    I know she had a tough life the past few years based on her illness.

    I believe the reports were that she lost the ability to walk in 2004 and to speak in 2009. MS one of those diseases that no one would wish on their worst enemy.

    Their house was destroyed in a fire in 2011, and was sued by the neighbors.

    She started exhibiting symptoms over 20 years ago. I'm amazed she lasted this long.

    It's not that unusual for people with MS to live 20+ years with MS. It's not fatal and VERY few people die early because of it. It's dependent upon where the disease attacks the brain, but it's very rare. Studies have found 85%-90% of MS patients live as long as their peers.

    she evidently had a progressive form that left her unable to speak or move. she needed 24 hour nursing care.

    Now it's time to say goodbye to the most famous Mouseketeere. RIP America's Sweetheart. Thanks for great childhood memories and all the fun beach movies.
