Currently we have a mix of HR22 & HR24 that are all networked via CAT5. (We also have another DTV, non -HD box) in a spare guest room with no CAT5 to that room)

Install is tomorrow and we do not have SWIM.

Will the new setup work over our existing CAT5 or will they add a SWIM to our setup?

If they add a SWIM to our system, will that non-HD box become part of the network? (the TV it is driving isn't even HD)

Maybe we could move one of the HR22's to that room?

What are you having installed? SWM is only installed in certain situations. The SD box cannot become part of a whole home network. If they do install SWM, if that isn't an R16, it will need swapped out for one.

    DOH! Sorry, hr34 coming tomorrow.

After more thought, the extra room needs to stay on its own because it is SD anyhow.

So, just hr22's and hr24's that are currently networked (mrv) over cat5. No swim needed to replace a hr22 with a 34?

Yes you will get SWM for sure if you are getting an HR34, but idk about whole home they might charge for that idk.

If it is an R16, it will work with the SWiM, but it isn't MRV compatible (so it won't see the other DVRs in your house and they won't see the R16). If the HMC 34 is swapping out an HD DVR, you might want to put that in the other room and have the R16 deactivated.

The tech ended up moving a HR22 that was "extra" to that location and did a full SWiM install.

Rocking and rolling with everything, MRV everywhere :biggthump
