Any tips to get MediaShare to work?

    411 MB would be about the norm - 206 would be spoken word (maybe).Most lossless formats reduce down to the 400-450 MB range for a 700MB disc so no comparison point there. And its lossless so no audio comparison either - leaves encoding and decoding speed and cpu load.

    My personal experience is that when I started ripping my library (a seemingly never-ending effort :)) no lossless format could beat FLAC on encoding, and only a handful beat it on decoding speed. I believe there is a new codec that does beat it now by the narrowest of margins - but I think I'll stick with FLAC.

    Another big advantage of flac is that the decoder is fixed point. This makes it possible to easily transcode it from my NAS :)

    I like FLAC too, but I can't get it to work with MediaShare. Can you?

    Yes I use it (transcoded by TVersity) using the Xiph filters (aka illiminables)
