I mentioned it in another thread, my video card isn't on the approved list. Is anyone else going to go out and buy parts for their computers?

I am going to try it first (obviously) before running to the store.

Just remember (this is free advice from "Tony's get what toys you want from your wife" book (not sold in stores :D)) before you run to the store, tell your SO that this is for the greater good and they should feel honored to be part of history in the making!

 I am going to wait and see. My laptop meets the requirements. But, my desktop doesn't. Also, I need to buy a new subwoofer for my main room. Because mine shoot craps on me.

Sub wolfer eh? Does it howl at a very low frequency? If it's shooting stuff at you it may be time to have it neutered!

I plan on building a new PC since my other desktop crashed during a power outage last year.

But the only problem is I have never built a PC. A friend on mine that I have not talk to in a long time built my last for me. But once I figure out everything I want I am going to order it from newegg.com and give it a shot.

 Hey, it early on a Saturday morning and I am not the greatest speller. I went to the HDTVsportsfan school of typing. :D

    It's corrected now. :)

I don't plan on beefing up my PC .. although I may consider jumping to 4GB instead of my current 2GB ..

I've built many PC's for myself and friends. It's not too difficult.

Myself, I'vebeen looking for justification to the wife for a new video card, so I'm hopeful this might be it ;)

    Dripping...
I don't plan to, I'm going to see how things work on my current system first. As I mentioned in the other thread, the requirements look like they're geared towards HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc playback, which could do 1080p and more demanding audio streams, hopefully my little old system will be able to handle 1080i and DD5.1.

I'm at wait and see on video. My video is on-board. I did, however, over clock the Core 2 Quad to 3.0GHz. It's quite fast.

Dell XPS M1530 Laptop running VISTA should be fine what with 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo/4GB/250GB/8600M GT 256.

The 3.0 Dual Core/4GB/160&250GB/ATI X1600 desktop seems to do just fine running an HD tuner, Outlook, Pinnacle Studio, VideoRedo, Explorer, and Firefox all at once so should be good. But hey, any excuse to buy new toys, eh?
