Tried my H23-600, it would not power the DECA...

And now it doesn't seem to like SWM at all. :(

At least it still works on a WB68.

I'll be checking with DIRECTV, of course.

    Cheers,
    Tom

I recommend, based on what happened to me, power off the unit when playing with this one.

Hooked mine up, and no lights. Did a restart and then unplugged the network cable from the DECA and plugged it back in. Lights are on and searching for the network at the moment

No go at this point on the H23-600
when I do a reset, the network lights come on, but then all lights on the DECA go out. This appears to happen during the H23-600 boot up process. Network tests indicate the ethernet cable is not attached...of course since there appears to be no power to the DECA ie...no power light. I wonder if a CE cycle cna take care of that. I'll try and determine exactly when in the reboot process that the DECA appears to lose all power/connection.

Got word back from DIRECTV. The H23's aren't supported yet. If you have another PI, you can use that. Otherwise, we'll be waiting a bit longer.

    Cheers,
    Tom

I don't have an H23.... But just for reference.

This needs to be a 21 volt power inserter, correct? A 29 volt is too much?

Thanks for the heads up Tom. I was just about to hook mine up to my H23-600 but I guess I will hook it up to my H21-200 for now.

I have the one sent with the kit since I had to hook my wireless to the HR21, so that makes it available for testing...Thanks...I figured the CE may not yet support it when it started out connecting then went "dead"

    Tom,
A cautionary question..Should the PI be inserted as a normal setup or someother way? since I already have a 29v PI installed on the HR21 feeding back to the SWM. Will this affect the SWM at all having 2 PI's?

    I'm not Tom but,

Sat in of H23 to output of 2 way splitter, PI to the other output of 2 way splitter, then the input of the splitter goes into dongle.

I'm presuming the DECA filters all the power for itself. (Not really greedy, just for protection.) :)

    So shouldn't be a problem.

    Cheers,
    Tom

Well I set it up as a normal PI: outlet to DECA; DECA to PI; PI to H23.
All appears to function normally. Network was recognized immediately.
Sees both HR's and plays recordings beautifully.
