I doubt it's possible but let's keep the thread to just getting one or not.
Soon as it's viable, in my small market, in Upper New York State, I'll get one and replace my old SD standalone version. I've had it for 11 years.
Kind of had to vote yes
I'm happy with my HR24-500, not getting a TiVo here.
If it had Whole Home, i might be tempted..but since it doesnt, no thanks
Well played, if you would edit the question to state: , or already have, to make it relevant to those who tested, or already ordered one, I would appreciate it.
Simple question, simple answer: No
Would not use it if it was given for free and excess monthly charges were removed.
Only when forced to when the HR10-250 finally bites the dust. Just replaced the HR10-250 power supply a couple of months ago, so who knows how long it may yet keep going.
We also use a DirecTV HR21 HD DVR for all satellite channels and only use the HR10-250 to record HD OTA shows and of course, TiVo Suggestions from the many OTA channels and sub-channels available to us here in Chicago. Tried the AM21 for OTA with the HR21 and found OTA reception here to be much better with the HR10-250 ATSC tuners.
If it had been exactly like my HR10-250 (with reinstated stolen HD sat capability) I would have voted YES.
Nope. Love Tivo, have them for cable. Probably would have made a mistake and purchased a D* one had they been available several months ago.
Will have an HR34 up and running tomorrow.
Same answer as Stuart!
I would use it in the above scenario but NO I'm not going to get one.
I'm not getting one myself, but I can certainly understand why someone would want it.
My brother left D* for E* but if he were still over on this side he'd have a few.
No whole home AND $5/mo more - no thanks.
If this were 2002, sure. Since it's 2011, no thanks.
I have no faith in TiVo anymore. I still have an SD TiVo that I use in my bedroom as a backup to record important programs such as Survivor. Last Thursday, for no reason, the recording stopped after 15 minutes. If that was my only DVR, I would have lost the show. It recorded just fine on my HR24. The whole TiVo platform has been shaky since the 6.3e software debacle four years ago, and my confidence in it has never recovered.
Up to 18 months ago, I would have instantly bought one. Not now though. Love my HR-24 and the new HD GUI
Nope. TIVO is too little too late.
I used to be a TiVo fanboy and loved my S3. This one came too late, has nothing really better than the HRs and the lack of MRV is a deal breaker. IMHO this is going to be a huge fiasco,
