A compromise that D* could do for Premier customers is to split the difference and add 2.49 to the Premier package cost and eliminate the need to have the extra package.

The information that I have that I printed off the web states," Beginning December 15, 2007, this package will be available for only $4.99 per month. Until then, you can enjoy these channels as part of a free preview. "
Apparently sir there has been different information spread out there. It is neither here nor there at this point. Since we are all obviously continuing to receive the channels than it must be on 12/16/07 when they will change over; we shall see.

Please don't hijack this thread. There's enough of that discussion going on in other threads it doesn't need to be brought up here. Please stay on topic.

One dictionary definition of the word "until" is "before" but if D* wants to define it as "after" I guess that's OK! :)

I'm surprised that they were going to shut the channels off on a weekend.

Used with an expression taken to refer to an instant of time, "until" has a reasonably well-defined meaning, but when the expression refers to a span of time, the ending point could come anywhere in that span. If they turned off my channels before midnight of the 15th HST, which is 5am of the 16th EST, they might possibly be criticized for turning them off too soon.

Someone needs to learn to read. "Until" does not mean "through".

If I give you "until December 15th" to do something that means you need to have it done by 11:50PM on December 14th.

    Use some common sense!

Since the channels are still on, obviously it does.

Here's some recent FREE previews and the dates they were advertised:

HBO Free Preview April 6-10th 2007 (know when the 10th was? A Tuesday. Know when the Free Preview stopped? Wednesday morning)

Starz Free Preview April 19 - 22nd 2007 (know when the 22nd was? A Sunday. Know when the Free Preview stopped? Monday morning).

Starz Free Preview Sept. 14-17th 2006 (know when the 17th was? A Sunday. Know when the Free Preview stopped? Monday morning).

Go ahead, look them up. They were all advertised that way. They used either, the numerical phrasing (i.e. 6-10th) or "to" (i.e. April 6th to the 10th) or "until" (i.e. April 6th until the 10th).

When talking about a free preview, the dates are always inclusive. ALWAYS.

Apparently it's not so common, since you're obviously incorrect here (don't believe me, turn on the TV and check). When you're going to insult someone, it's usually best to make sure your position hasn't already been disproven.

Regardless, those are pretty big words from a little man on the internet. How about you PM me and we'll exchange addresses. Up for it?

You got embarrassed when you tried to put someone down by making a foolish remark. Now you want to "exchange addresses"?

Suck it up, apologize for your errors, and learn from it.

PM me all you want and you'll find out how much it really means to me.

What embarrassment? What foolish remark? What errors?

Yes or no, is the preview still going on or not?

Yes or no, did the other previews I mention include the "to" date or not?

The answer to both is YES.

If I erred, I'd certainly apologize. But the mistake is clearly yours.

How can you actually believe you're right, when the preview is still going on?

Talk about common sense and the lack thereof. You seem to be the poster child. I wouldn't keep saying the sky is red when I could look up and see that it's blue. Open your eyes, the evidence is readily available. The offer still stands.

The issue has nothing to do with if the preview is still going on.... that was the point of the entire thread.

It has to do with the ignorant remark you made.

Which remark?? Where was the ignorance?

I quoted the statement D* made regarding the length of the preview.

You commented that anyone with common sense and that knew English would know that the preview would not be available on the 15th.

Today is the 15th and it's available. End of discussion. I was correct in my interpretation of their wording and you weren't. You didn't know. That's the definition of ignorance.

    Simple.

If I were an average everyday DirecTV customer I would have no idea that some of my channels were about to be turned off, but since I visit here and D*'s web site I am aware of what is going on. I have never been told, in my e-mail or statement, of these upcoming changes. So I will play dumb and call and ask why my service has been changed and why have channels, that I subscribe to, have been turned off.

It's just how this member explains it:

When dealing with free previews (among other things), the dates are ALWAYS inclusive. They've been that way for many, many years.

    How is that ignorant?

Your best bet at this point, csgo, may just be to either stop posting or just post a simple apology for not understanding how previews are structured and attacking someone for it.
