Pace the UK-based manufacturer of receivers/DVRs for DirecTV is to be acquired by Arris, a multimedia technology company based in Georgia. See http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=87823&p=irol-newsArticle_print&ID=2038990 for more info. Arris had already acquired the Motorola Home business from Google including manufacture of set-top boxes for many cable and satellite companies worldwide.

All I knew about them is that they sponsor Carl Edwards in NASCAR.

So...Do they make all this stuff in Georgia, or is that just the PO Box for the CEO and his NASCAR Crew.

Blue Ridge Communications also uses them and they are fantastic.
Way better than any Motorola Surfboard Modem/router.

They seem to be doing something right. I can't complain about my Arris modem at all. When CV first started using them I got a couple that had problems, but the one I have now has been great and I think it's been here for several years. Before that, I got a bunch of crappy modems from CV and all the other ISPs.

Pace made some earlier DirecTV DVR's didn't they?

Our cable company uses Pace set top boxes, as well as Arris. Guess at some point they will all be one brand.
I have an Arris SB6183 modem, working smoothly bonded to 16 downstream channels and 4 upstream on my cable provider.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Arris name / brand brought into DirecTV via the Pace Satellite STB division.

Pace also makes hardware for Tivo, so I wonder how that will go considering Arris has their own Moxi (My cable co's multi-room solution). They both make hardware for Comcast's X1 platform.

Great news. Glad to hear a U.S. owned company is taking care of this now.

Pace is a current DirecTV supplier, manufactures all the DirecTV boxes with -700 as the model number suffix....
