I said hype cause att is now the 2nd provider to add altice channels


Previously news 12 and i24 was exclusive.to altice

Now all the sudden multiple providers want to add it ...


Vz might be slightly different as they ended fios 1 for news 12 / i24


Correction I think.spectrum also has news 12/i24

So now att/d* will be the 3rd provider...

I am assuming this is a pay to play or time buy channel, or at least being provided at no charge.

I never heard of this channel before today, but it looks like it covers news from Africa, India, and the Middle East; news for people who immigrated from there; and news about Israel and Jewish issues. That is a niche of a niche of a niche.

 

Comcast also added it (in HD, amazingly) a few months ago, but ONLY available as an X1/IP-only channel, along with other IP-only channels like Newsmax HD, Z-Living HD & Hallmark Drama HD.

 

i24 launched in Feb 2017 on Altice USA (it may have launched before internationally ) . but again i dont get they hype and why now 2 years later every provider is adding this channel ..

Comcast xfinity also carries i24. So, once it gets added by AT&T (for both DirecTV and U–verse), i24 will be available on the cable-television lineups of the nation’s Top 2 providers.

Now that they are adding this... could they freaking add Al Jazeera English as well. Yeah I know it's on YouTube blah blah blah.....

 

According to kyl416, i24 News will NOT actually be satellite delivered, but instead be a Genie-only streaming channel, similar to Cheddar:

Which at this point why bother carrying? A good chunk of DirecTV's customer base won't be able to watch due to being in areas that lack high speed internet. Either carry it like any other channel or don't bother.

 

Not sure , but this will be the 2nd altice owned channel that is internet based.

Not to mention it ONLY works on Genie's & mini's at that, nor obviously can you record the stream...so many subs won't even bother watching it, if they can't record it like any other (satellite) channel.
