AT&T has been selling Dish services for years, with a bundling discount for their phone/internet customers.

This sounds like the nine states that BellSouth covered. Probably a new contract since the "New AT&T" took over.

So what are they going to do with all of their ATT/DirecTV bundled customers?

Probably continue to support them but no longer sign on any new ones.

Since we're talking about AT&T and Dish in this thread I thought it might be safe to ask this question, is my Dish Network still part of AT&T even though I didn't go through AT&T to get Dish Network???

They are going Dish exclusively for 6 months, then hopefully will realize the mistake and sell DIRECTV again. :)

No. If you have a 16 digit Dish Network account number, your account is with Dish Network, not At&t.

If I wanted to could I switch it over to AT&T and still keep my services that I have with Dish???

If it is through AT&T would the Dish come in through the Internet or would be the same as it is now???

Also what would be the benefit of having Dish through AT&T rather than Dish by itself or vice versa???

If you're referring to having AT&T be the one who bills you for your DISH service, you would no longer have any billing/technical support/customer service through DISH. It would all go through AT&T. If an AT&T customer, who has Dish Network through AT&T calls DISH, DISH will not have any dealing with them, and refer them back to AT&T for services.

It would be the same. DISH can only "come in" via satellite.

You save some money, if you bundle other AT&T services along with your DISH service...similar to the "triple-play" type bundles cable companies offer...phone/TV/Internet/cellular.

Here in TN ( formerly Bellsouth area ) ATT is working to push through a bill in the legislature for statewide cable franchises. I heard today that it is nearly a done deal. Can anyone say Uverse?

The paper today indicated it was basically a done deal.

My local power company is currently installing fiberoptics so they can start offering internet, phone service and television. Be interesting to see what it does if anything to Charter's prices.
