Simple answer....for now you will get Braves games on EI that are on Fox Sports in glorious HD or SD, whatever they are available in. Also, you will get Peachtree TV (local Atlanta TV) in SD on 617 or on an EI channel. DirecTV is working on getting the HD versions of the Peachtree games (which are all remaining 44 of them). You will need EI for any Braves games not on ESPN or TBS (which may be a Sunday or two).

The game tonight with the Mets is scheduled for Peachtree TV (currently in a rain delay). When I tune into the channel, all I see is "To Be Announced" and a blank black screen. Are we not getting this channel anymore?

Thanks for the reply Dan. :)
It sounds like they are in for some more stormy weather in Atlanta tonight (tornado watches and warnings).
Even though the game is rained out, there is still the issue of this game was scheduled for Peachtree TV in this area, according to the Braves official website, but it was basically shut down on us.We were able to view the first game on Peachtree TV the other night (commercial free). The only other option for this game was SNY HD (625),but it was blacked out in this area (727 message).

FWIW, Skip Caray came on right at 7:30 and annouced the game had been rained out, and the station immediately went to "Cheers." I never saw a break in programming. I only checked on the OTA version as it is how the games will be in HD for me.

Good news, Peachtree TV is now in wonderful HD 24/7. This is in the Atlanta area, don't know if those of you outside the area will get it. The games for this week are listed in HD, so there could be hope for you outside the Atlanta area.

Any thoughts on if this will be in HD. I think this is the first Peachtree TV broadcast I think.

The metro Atlanta area should get it in HD via OTA.If this channel is available via cable in the metro Atlanta area, they may offer it in HD too.Someone in the metro Atlanta area with cable service may be able to give more info in that regard.
IIRC,this will be the third Braves game scheduled to be broadcast on Peachtree TV.The first game on Peachtree TV turned out to be a straight live feed from Turner Field, with no commercials during the entirety of the game. The second game on this channel was canceled/postponed (rained out). :)
    Edit:Welcome to the forums jawilson20.

Update:It appears that someone has updated some info in the channel guide. This game is no longer listed. It is now showing "Upcoming:Reds @ Braves at 7:30PM EDT on 5/2".
Anyway,I will tune into the channel at 7PM EDT this evening to see if the Braves @ Mets game comes on.

    Anyone watching the game?

I've looked at it on the dish, and OTA, and there is some strange screen door looking stuff going on. Still picture is great, but any movement gives the appearance that lines are missing.

A lot of shimmer/herringbone stuff in the contrast changes. All in all, hard to watch...

This was done and has been done for many years now to allow for ALL of the games to be shown! Many people (like me) don't want to have to pay DTV extra to watch all the games.

In my area, the Braves' PTV games are carried locally on the CSS channel via Comcast.

I have them here in Augusta on CSS also, BUT they do not show the Peachtree games in HD on the Braves HD Channel. They do show FSN and Sports South games in HD. Maybe it's a rights issue outside the metro Atlanta area?
