I have the newest non 4K Genie and 3 Mini's. On our Mini in the kitchen if it is left on a channel for an extended period of time the audio starts cutting out. If I change the channel audio works good again. I had a tech out here Saturday he checked all connections and grounding and he said everything was fine. He hooked the tv up component instead of hdmi. That did not fix the issues. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Mark

This is a known issue with the software. You are not the only one that has this problem. Everybody does and a technician can't fix it. Let me guess you have a C61 model Genie mini?

I just made an appointment for a technician to come out this weekend to troubleshoot a similar problem. Now that I'm reading west99999 response I wonder if this is going to be a waste of time? We have the HR54-200 with the C61K-700 and our issue is a high pitched squeal and/or audio drop outs every few minutes or so. Tried switching inputs and cables but that didn't fix the issue. Also, the audio issues are not present when using my Xbox One, Apple TV or Blu-ray player.

The audio drops outs is a (very well) known issue. The high pitch is the first time I hear it.

I know I'm not the only one with the issue, However for what we pay per month the **** better get better fast or we will no longer be a DIRECTV customer. Not sure what Mini we have I will check. The tech said it was the latest Mini.

How is the mini connected to your TV? or it connected to an audio receiver? If so, how?

Thanks peds! The mini Genie is connected via house cabling. The house was built in 1998. From the mini it is connected via hdmi cable straight to the tv.

Work around is to rewind about 15 seconds and play from there it usually stops the audio dropouts..

Is this a permanent fix to where it won't do it again?

Does the audio drop outs happen on the wireless Mini Genie?

The rewind trick works until it catches back up to live time as far as I've seen. Wireless don't seem to have the audio dropouts.
