HR24-700: Have audio drop outs when watching live TV. If dolby digital is enabled, it will just stop the audio for anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute, and then come back on. With dolby not enabled, it just pops off audio for less than a second. This only happens with MSNBC, no other channels I am aware of. Also, not video breakup, and hitting replay the drop out is not there at the same spot. I would suspect a problem with the receiver or cables, except for the fact its only happening on this one channel.

Any suggestions on what to check for?

I'm having the exact same issues.
It is happening on ALL of my 24s.
Not happening on 54 or C61ks.
Been happening for about a week.

Got the same thing here on the 24 and 44. Had just chalked it up to adding dish realignment to the to do list when I swap out equipment to accommodate the HS17 I hope to get my sweaty paws on sometime in the near future.

Pretty sure I have, but will do that again and see if there is any difference.

I am experiencing brief audio break-ups on MSNBC as well. I have a new HR54 and a recently aligned dish. I think it is the signal on this one channel, not the equipment.

Ok THanks. Rebooting did not help. Just hitting pause for about 30 seconds, and then play, and allowing it to play delayed by 30 seconds seems to solve the problem.

    Thanks for the tip.
That makes it bearable for now.

I am having that problem on my HR24. It mostly happens on the ID channel. No problems on my H24 upstairs. I'm thinking something is wrong with the hr24 unit.

The problem seems to have been ameliorated.

    Here we go again.
Complete loss of audio on several channels including the open championship channels.
Have to change the channel and back to resume audio.

Audio dropouts again on MSNBC this morning.
Also happened on ESPN2 for the first time.
    Also, Pandora still not working.

I have been seeing audio dropouts on MSNBC for a week now. I have a HR54, ad dish alignment is good with consistently strong signal strength (Sat 103W, TPN 5)

Use an AVR? I'm seeing differences in audio dropouts. I see plenty when using my Sony AVRs, but few when using the Polk SB. I'd blame it on the HDMI connections, but one AVR uses only optical cables. Not sure what to make of this.

Was that you that said I was doing myself a disservice by not using the settings on my Samsung 4K sets?
