NFL Network is doing 5.1 audio for the first time tonight. I am getting frequent audio dropouts. Is anyone else experiencing this?

There was all kind of audio issues about an hour and a half ago. They seem to have cleaned it up now though.

Watching the 11-17-11 game and getting a drop every 10 minutes or so, very noticeable with Onkyo receiver. We went so long without the audio drops now they are starting up again over the last month. Not just the NFL network but other channels also...

Yeah, I get them all the time. I notice them every time I watch TV on various channels. Seems extra bad tonight on 212.

I don't see how that's possible. My DD signal completely drops out and it's even noticeable on TV speakers just not as pronounced. Doesn't everyone get the same satellite signal when not a spot signal.

Some people notice them more than others and the stereo receiver plays a part, too. Onkyo have a slightly longer time getting "resynched" as opposed to Yamaha. I wasn't really noticing the drops until reading here, then I noticed them.

Last night I has a lot more drop outs than last week. It didn't annoy me too much because it was great to see the Jets loose.

    Go Bills!

As someone else mentioned, its not just NFLN that has drop outs. It happens quite a bit on Versus when I'm watching hockey games. It lasts a good second or two, which is annoying.

Does anyone know what the best receiver would be. Are all Yamaha's good or just certain models. Stinks we need a new receiver because directv wont fix there DD signal.

I honestly don't have many drop outs with my 2 Samsung models. Models HT-Z320 and HT-C550.

I've had two Yamaha (the 1st was a crappy HTIB & now a RX-V465) receivers and both handled dropouts pretty well. Here's an old video of how quick it resyncs. It happens at about 0:11.

Wow , thank you very much for the information. You should see how slow my Onkyo resyncs. (Almost 2 seconds) That's why the drop outs are so annoying.
Thanks also Kevin about the Samsung models also. That Yamaha looks like the ticket though.

If you're into 3D, be aware my model isn't 3D passthrough but others are.

We aren't really discussing having to purchase a new receiver because D* has issues with audio dropouts are we?
How may people went out and purchased a new receiver because D* couldn't get their **** together on the whole 3d thing? Now audio issues?
    WOW.

I've noticed these more the last week or so. I also use an Onkyo recv'r. It is annoying. Had it on VS, NFL and also Speed. I am also using the latest CE, didn't notice as much with the last NR.

No one should have to buy a new receiver and DirecTV should fix it. However, if you're getting a new receiver then how quickly it handles drops is a legit consideration. Calm down, Boomer. ;)
