Actually you'll get whatever Genie is on the truck. Could be a 44.

The only way** to get an HR54, is to sign up for 4K and specifically tell them you don't want the Genie 2 (aka HS17). Then you'll get a C61K for your 4K TV (and you need to have the 4K at install).

Otherwise as West said, you'll get what is on the truck.

**Another way (I think). Order an HR54 through SolidSignal. But then you have to pay full-price for the DVR.

All packages include 4K. You need to ask for a 4K mini to be included for your order

If it was me I'd ask for the HS17. I've had mine since the beta testing days and it works fine.

You need to be careful though. When I "upgraded" to 4k, the installer had a 44 with him. He tried to convince me that it would work with 4K. I had to refuse the install before he called his supervisor and told me he would come back the next day with a 54. After he was done, he told me the only "true 4K" is possible on the HS17 and that the 44 and 54 are "exactly the same except for hard drive size." He essentially wanted to give me the wrong equipment and then let someone else correct it later. The only thing he cared about was how the wiring looked if a quality check was done. That's why my first question was what equipment he had with him before he started on anything.

Another "well trained" installer. It never seems to end. Folks can learn a lot from this post.
