I found this today:

http://www.beachaudio.com/product_info.php?products_id=85522

They say they have 305 of them in stock as of 09/01/2006 12:52 PM and they offer $5 ground shipping.

I purchased 2 Directv Dtva3brace Mono-pole Braces for my AT9 a few weeks ago from these guys and their shipping was very fast for basic ground to my zipcode.

Has anyone purchase D* receivers from these guys before?

Just ordered mine from Beach. It said 2-3 business day shipping to my zip code in Minnesota.
I called D* retention and she had to look at my account and situation and she said it is different what they can offer a person depending on their situation. I currently have two HR10s and she said she could give me $150 off when I activate the HR20 since I wanted to buy it at an outside retailer. I wasn't able to get it from D* yet but was supposed to be able to get it in a few weeks if supplies are there. I didn't want to wait cause the Vikings will soon be playing and I need the HD locals to get the games in HD. So for $250 plus $150 off it is not a bad deal. While I was on the phone I also set up an install date of Sept 16th Which will be free and they will give me a free AT9 dish. Hope the receiver gets here on time or I will have to delay the install. Can't wait. I have been waiting many years to get my local NFL team in HD!

I don't know, it says it ships in 2-3 business days to my zip on my order and they are in stock. I don't know why they wouldn't ship them out this week.
Because DirecTV won't allow them. They are giving Bestbuy a 10 day "exclusive" so no other dealers are allowed to ship before the 9/13. Time will tell if BeachAudio follow DirecTV's rules but its in their best interest play nice with D*.

Cite your sources on this information.

Besides, 10 days for $150+ savings. I'll take that anyday.

hmm... Bestbuy is $440 after tax and shipping. Beach Audio is $248 + $5 shipping.

Break out your calculator, Sherlock. "Avalible only at Best Buy" is a lie. All the people who have it installed already didn't get it at Best Buy, I assure you.

Cited as you demanded:

"Available Only at Best Buy!"

and its 10 days and $50 in savings....but you're free to shop where ever you want.

Listen, I'm not going to argue with you as you already know it all apparently. But the price on the HR20 has been reduced by DirecTV and is currently being offered for $299+shipping (no tax) so the $50 delta stands. (except at best buy that is). And why demand sources for a Best Buy Only exclusive if you are just going to call it a lie? I'd ask you to cite your sources on this "lie conspiracy" but I know you do not have any.

Anyway if you want to continue to show off your ignorance then have at it, but I'll leave it to others in here to point it out to you.

Where in your sources does it say "10-day Best Buy" exclusive? Not even in Robert's post does it mention it, he mentions it might be due to software still being developed.

How can you say there is an "exclusive" when no one has even received it from Best Buy, but others sure have it installed already - an "exclusive" means it is ONLY (your bolding) at Best Buy - not true, aka a LIE.

Clearly, your mention of Best Buy's "exclusive" must take in to account their price. If you are saying it's 10 days and $50 that's incorrect since others have it for $299 but they have to wait to ship it according to your "exclusive" theory.

So it's either 10 days and $150 or 0 days and $50.

Robert at Value Electronics - are you folks going to meet the HR20 price of $248 that we're now seeing at Beach Audio?? (Shipping is extra - I understand.)

Unfortunately, for $50, it's worth cancelling one order at VE and placing it at Beach Electronics. It's downright dumb to pour money down the drain when you're buying a commodity...

I live in NY, 20 minutes from Roberts store. I bought a R-15 from robert a few months ago and picked it up in the store. Great Guy and his whole staff were very professional. I will buy All my Directv products from robert, EXCEPT this time...

Since I am in NY I have to pay 8.75 Sales tax on top of the $299 price. It brings my price to about $325.00 so the Beach Audio HR20-700 is about $75 cheaper for me. And I cant pick it up at roberts store, it has to be shipped from the warehouse, so it should take the same time shipping for both places

Sorry Robert but If the price stays at $299 I have to go with Beach Audio. I would love to do business with you again but $75 LESS for a receiver I am LEASING, Its a NO BRAINER.

I wonder how long it will take some of the independent dealers to stop drinking the kool-aid a realize that this D* leasing model is very bad for them.

Actually the lease plan is very good for authorized dealers for the following two reasons.

1. We are off the hook for the charge-back buy-down money.

2. Authorized dealers can compete by exclusively offering the ownership of the equipment we offer. Only by buying directly from an authorized dealer does the customer have the option to activate the HD DVR as his owned unit.

1. You never should have been on the hook for the majority of chargebacks in the first place. My local dealer, now E* only, used to get installs from D*, but then D* would charge him back if they didn't stay on for a year and it was an install D* sent him. Its not like he was going out and selling bogus systems to make the commission.

2. On the Leased vs. Owned. You have repeatedly stated the equipment you sell is owned. Isn't it supposed to be at a much higher price to be considered owned? For example, the HR10 was $399 to lease, but if you wanted to own it, D* would charge you $799 (or something like that.)

Robert, I ordered the hr20 from you the other day, is the unit considered leased or owned? Thanks
When you activate the HR20 you have the choice to tell the CSR you want it to be set up on your account as an owned or leased unit.

If you select owned you will not be eligible for the free dish upgrade or free lifetime advanced replacement coverage.

The lease adds nothing to your monthly bill so leasing is truly to your benefit, but you do have the choice.

Thanks for the reply Rob.:) I have the protection plan which covers everything, so i will make it as owned. I see no advantage to leasing the unit at this point.
