I don't think so because I don't have access to Universal Sports Network but I have Bein and also GolTV.
Man, I'm already LOVING this channel!!
The pre game is good and the slick presentation already has me making GOLTV a distant memory.. I'm gonna love these La Liga tripleheaders as the Malaga-Celta game was outstanding and can't wait for more soccer in the coming weeks from Serie A and npower Championship..
THE EXPRESS pre game show IMO is gonna be fantastic. The way these guys are presenting soccer will make this the go to channel for soccer in the future.. GOLTV needs to take some lessons IF they plan on sticking around.. Their presentation is very "vanilla" and stale and they need to step up because beIN is the real deal.
Any more thoughts on this channel??
yeah. Why does most foreign soccer picture quality suck?
Some people actually care about PQ. I actually agree when watching anything Bundasliga on Goaltv. Most, if not everything I've seen on beIN has had incredible picture quality.
Yes, I'm loving it equally as much. I'm hoping for a ton of championship and Ligue 1 matches. Who needs Fox Soccer Plus?
I would love to see Fox migrate the Rugby content away from + as well but I'm guessing that probably will not happen. They still need something to sell on through their online portal I'm thinking.
Has the BeIN online version been set up yet?
The match I just watched wasn't. Almost always is crap. Long shots have edges around players. Motion blur all over the place. The crowd in the stands looks like color dots. Horrible effects on the field when the camera moves.
World Cup soccer looked great. Olympic soccer was pretty good. MLS looks great.
Maybe it's your TV or your eyesight because I see nothing wrong with the PQ. The French game looked good yesterday and the Spanish games today looked good as well.. Besides people have different opinions about PQ. I mean watching sports in HD is different from watching, say, A Batman movie or any movie for that fact..
During yesterday's Ligue One match, Phil Schoen let it slip that they will be announcing something special within the next week or so....could be rights to another league.
I agree with Tony that it's been looking pretty weak so far, but I've watched thousands of hours of international soccer and know that it's always been hit or miss. Wednesday's Ecuador-Chile friendly was almost unwatchable but today's La Liga matches were much improved.
Not my set or my eyesight. I see it on more than one TV and outside my home as well. And I watch tons of sports. The game I watched today was horrible. I don't know what game it was because I am not a big soccer fan. I just watch to enjoy knowing nothing about the teams or what the games mean.
To assume I am comparing things to movies is pretty out there. I can watch a baweball game and make out individuals in the stands on long shots. Except for close ups in foreign soccer, the picture stinks. I can watch an MLS game like when Portland is on and see the details of the crowd in the background. Watch an foreign soccer match and there are edges around all the players on long shots.
Maybe YOUR tv is poor and you can't see detail properly.
Thank you. It so annoys me I can't really get into the games. Maybe it is stadium lighting?
No I don,t think so.. As far as + goes, they might have to migrate the rugby if they lose EPL rights, which I doubt they will because beIN is not even sure
They will bid because of what they are saying "scheduling conflicts and financials" but will consider taking over GOLTV"if the price is right" and that is from this article:
Look I was asking about the channels presentation NOT the PQ.. I know some guys are disappointed because they can't clearly see the acne on a little girl's face sitting in the 5th row rather than actually PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GAME ITSELF. That's what I was asking about, PRESENTATION AND PRODUCTION not PQ. My goodness we all know European feeds are hit and miss I understand that"... To each his own as far as PQ goes. Im one that if i can see it, it's fine i forgot some are anal retentive when it comes to PQ AND I apologize for the "eyesight" blast..
The PQ is so bad that I can't enjoy the game. It is not just beIN. I'm not picking on them. You are very forgiving. If you are a big fan, I can see living with it. I am not. It drives me away. Not good for soccer, is it, when you drive away potential fans.
What is the resolution of the source feeds?
The DIRECTV receivers have beIN Sports HD as 1080i native.
BeIN would probably look better if carried by provider that actually cared about PQ. Comcast comes to mind. Comcast goes for higher quality customer as well.
And what part did you miss about it being about foreign soccer, not beIN nor about directv.
I was wondering in which resolution beIN was receiving the feeds. Not the resolution that they are sending onward to DirecTV.
The PQ issues people are complaining about may be due to an upconvert.
