Sorry I'm not gonna believe someone who has only 3 posts....
It is just that we have someone on this forum that has a reliable way of seeing which channels are in "test" mode on the satellites, and he looks for changes almost on a daily basis. And since he hasn't spotted anything, it is perhaps understandable that people on this forum are really apprehensive of someone coming on to the forum that no one really knows with claims that channels are coming.
In other words, your trust still needs to be earned. We'd like to know what source you are getting this information from.
Understood. I will post more info when it is absolutely concrete.
Btw, anyone else find Roy Hudson annoying?
Ray Hudson? The guy with the serious man crush on Messi? Yes I can't stand listening to him.
He's got a man crush on everybody.
Thanks for the tips, Oliver.
Yes, I don't know how this guy stays on the air. Describing goals as a wet dream was a bit much and I know he has gone farther than that.
if it isn't concrete, then technically it isn't coming yet.
If they don't carry it immediately in the Sports Package, I have to think it will come within a month or three. La Liga is huge in the US, and as soon as one Clasico goes by without carriage, DTV & Dish will get barraged with hateful PR blasts.
I suspect they will be on the front end of this. I know I've put in my $0.02 on DTV's FB page. With how many properties Al-Jazeera has bought up (and may continue to buy up if you consider the bidding war that will ensue for the English Premier League rights very soon), they're going to get it. I don't think it's _if_ any more, but instead _when_.
I'd suggest you check out the La Liga ratings before you call it "huge." it is anything but huge, based on the numbers.
There will be concrete changes to satellite configurations tomorrow.
If I am wrong blacklist/ban me.
Let's take La Liga and give it the primetime spots on ESPN that the NBA gets, and then shove the NBA to a channel on the sports tiers that NOBODY gets. David Stern would jump off a bridge.
It's huge, unfortunately illegal streams don't get measured by Nielsen. You don't see much La Liga or EPL on the mainstream channels because Budweiser likes it's 30 second promos during the events it's paid huge money to sponsor. While corporate dollars continue to wreak havoc on the American sporting landscape, channels like ESPN will try to blackball soccer. Why? Because it's insanely popular when the best players are involved, and if it gets popular in the US on TV, their in-game commercial spots completely dry up. No more billion dollar contracts for the NFL if people say, "Hey, why DO we have to deal with commercials every 5 minutes???"
A tweet reply I got from BeIN Sports USA, seemed to indicate it may be coming, but it was vague enough that it could be anything. Any way, it looks a little more positive.
To xavi6: I think satellite changes are expected indeed, based on announcements DirecTV has made in recent days with regards to BBC America and Nat Geo Wild, with added unsubstantiated rumors of ION.
Are you saying BeIN Sports USA would also be launched to "test" tomorrow? And what ELSE might be coming?
Sixto will run his report in the morning. We'll see then
BeIN Sport is missing from my iPhone app.:lol::lol::lol:
What a coincidence! So is PAC-12....................
You guys should be nicer to xavi6, even if he is wrong or just making stuff up it's not like anyone will be harmed at all. The truth always comes out eventually and he will be shown as right or wrong.
You are right of course. Perhaps xavi6 has indeed inside info, and if so.... that would only help with future channel additions, as he might be good source. In any case, we'll see what happens.
No one is being mean. Just stating the obvious. I think he understands that.
Reading their twitter account http://twitter.com/beINSport1USA things don´t look good...
La Liga matches that they show on ESPN2 on some Sunday afternoons gets between a 0.1 and 0.2. If they got better ratings, they would have sublease more matches.
