GOLTV is showing the German SuperCup this Sunday.
Fox Soccer had the Eredivise for a little bit. I think only showed one match a week though.
I'd actually like someone to pick up J-League. I'd bet that JFA wants waaaay too much for the rights though, in traditional Japanese fashion.
Yep I remember. That would be OK though, I am not a "hardcore" follower, but wouldn't mind catching a game every so often.
I know it is not the same, but there is a highlights show for the league that FSC shows.
Yep, I do enjoy watching that so I can actually see my beloved Grampus.
Its getting tested on Dish network also.
Since they are paying for the privilege of being carried, this is not surprising.
Never know. Dealing with Charlie can still go bad.
so it will be in a base pack then?
being that al jazeera sport was only on dish it seems to be the logical choice. Dish would have lost many customers if directv had it as an exclusive.
You mean like YES or basically any sports channel in New York? Dish doesn't build itself on sports.
They will get it cause beIN is paying to be on.
What is this ESPN FC you speak of? Is this more than the website for Euro 2012?
I hope not.. keep it at 426..
I would miss my Werder Bremen and the infamous GREAT YELLOW WALL in Dortmund
I agree in Portuguese league but they have more work to do to broadcast in united states. Sporttv is not that good with coverage and it's only in Portuguese no English transmission. It has to be worked on to compete with la liga or epl. Plus there's not that many great players in that league all the Portuguese players are playing for more expensive leagues like la liga or epl.
You got a point but with international sports coverage ie out of united states dish wins that category.
Hi GF 383.
You may be right, and I don't know... but let's compare - above and beyond regular channels and subscriptions.
DirecTV last season had:
Champions League - every match not shown on a network
Europa League - every match not shown on a network
Super 15 Rugby - every match
The Rugby Championship - every match
La Liga - select matches in the 400's every weekend
And if I missed anything, others will probably add to this list.
This coming season may be different, but may I ask you to post a list of what Dish carried that D* did not? Since I don't follow Dish, I'd be curious to know what I do not get with my current subscription.
portuguese league, brazilian league, asian league, greek league,Arabic league,SOuth asian league, plus Cricket leagues...It could be close but Dish leads in international programming. It's their bread and butter just like sports is Directv...but i'm happy that Dish is testing bein I was scared for a moment there but anything could happen. I saw that its an SD feed not HD hopefully they change that.
ESPN FC Press Pass will debut a punditry show on ESPNews starting August 15 which would correlate with the relaunched ESPN FC website. The show will be on 11pm Pacific Sunday-Friday (2am East Monday-Saturday).
In short, soccernet would be entirely replaced and the current ESPNews has been deemed as stale the last couple of years. I would look for a rebrand within 2-3 years.
FOX Network Secures Eredivisie broadcasting rights for 12 years at US$1.2B starting with the '13-'14 season.
Looks like Fox Soccer will be replenished somewhat now that they lost Serie A and some others. Now I am keeping an eye on the Portuguese Liga.
