Oh, certainly we each have different eye conditions so there's no "one size fits all" solution. Since I had cataract surgery, I can now see distances without any glasses, but I still need them for reading and seeing the computer screen clearly. Since I switch between all three situations frequently though, I'm still using progressive lenses with the upper distance portion having zero correction so I don't have to remove them for distances.

Probably, but I didn't realize eyesight got better overtime. Don't recall ever reading anything about this. Not a bad thing, just curious.

I remember reading somewhere for some it's a 7 year cycle. It can be that way with allergies as well.

Knock on wood my eyes have been steady now for about 10 years. I use separate reading and distance glasses.

My vision has improved slightly as far as my prescription is concerned, but I'm still very near-sighted and need glasses for everything except reading stuff very close up. My eye doctor explained why that is common, but I really didn't understand his explanation. And while I don't need quite as strong a prescription as before, my cataracts have gotten a little worse over time.

I wore bifocals, then progressive lenses for some time. After cataract surgery, though, I am getting by with no glasses for reading or computer work and single lenses for driving and TV watching.

Been watching my son and wife suffer from the same allergies for decades. I don't believe the 7 year thing based on what I've seen. I think the changes in eyesight we see are caused by the shape of the eyes changing. Gotta say, whatever happened, the way I can see today makes me happy.

Haven't given it much thought so far. I'd have to look into the costs, and then there's the matter of having to get the prescription changed for my glasses.
