I received an e-mail reply from DirecTv. They are forwarding my concerns to the Sports Programming Team for more information, but I may not receive a response until 7/17. Now this sounds promising.

No reason not to have profit sharing. They'd all make more money while increase their distribution overall, and not having to change how much they charge customers. Plus they'd all over all get more ad dollars.

You're in a screwed zone like those in Pirates territory that can't see their games at all. DirecTV is no longer the sports leader. I'd suggest switching providers.

You always say this. Who's the sports leader, then?

Me switching providers isn’t going to happen either. I’m with DirecTv for the NFL Sunday Ticket & MLB Extra Innings. There has been a mistake made & I already have someone that I have E-Mailed at DirecTv working on it. There has to be some foul up on DirecTv’s part.

Besides Starting Next Year in 2014 the new MLB Broadcasting Contract Goes into effect and the way I understand it is that there will be even less blackouts, and the ESPN, & TBS Games will no longer even be blacked out in a teams territory & FOX Saturday Games are going to be added to the Extra Innings Package. With Dish Network or Cable, i would not get any of that.

Who said it's a mistake? It could be in a ZIP code that is in the Cardinals market, but DirecTV doesn't want to pay FS MIdwest's fee to show Cardinals' games.

You could email ellen.filipiak@directv.com to get to the VP of Customer Service level.

How many times do I have to answer this. Once Again I am NOT NOT NOT in St. Louis Cardinals Broadcast Territory. I am in Zip Code 38834. Zip Code 38834 is Covered by The Atlanta Braves & Cincinnati Reds. Not The St. Louis Cardinals. Last Thursday & Friday I should have been able to watch the St. Louis Cardinals @ Chicago Cubs Game. I Was Blacked out From BOTH The St. Louis Feed & Chicago Cubs Feed. I had no way possible to see the game from either feed. I should have received both feeds of the broadcast but I didn’t. And I’ve already sent an e-mail and it’s been sent on to the DirecTv Sports Programming team. So far I haven’t heard anything else & i suspect that i won’t until the All-Star Game is over since there are no more MLB Extra Innings Games until Friday July 19, 2013.

Fridays Game I was not blacked out from WGN, But Thursday Night I was Blacked out from the Comcast Sportsnet Chicago Feed. Blacked out from FOX Sports Midwest Cardinals Feed. Last Wednsday Night Blacked out from FOX Sports Midwest, & MLB Extra Innings Feed of Comcast Sportsnet Houston’s Extra Innings Feed. That is when these Blackouts Started was on Wednesday Night July 10th. The last night The Cardinals played against The Astros.

Just checked the DirecTv MLB Extra Innings Schedule for when play resumes Friday July 19, 2013. Typed in Zip Code 38834 for When St. Louis plays The San Diego Padres and the Channel Numbers are shaded Black meaning that I should get both the Padres & Cardinals Feeds. I will be watching to see if the game is blacked out again on Friday Night. If it is then it is a DirecTv Mistake that needs to be corrected.

I think there are limited blackouts on WGN.

In Chicago you get both feeds WGN 9 and wgn america.

As well cubs / White Sox games that have aired on both CSN + WGN 9 and WGN america.

Here is what I found out:

On 7/9 ESPN, TBS and the MLB have added the Cardinals to that zip code. So from now on Braves, Reds, and Cardinals are in that zip codes territory. Any Cubs games against those teams will be blacked out on MLBEI.

    Sorry for the bad news.

It may be a little confusing but I merged your two thread together, no need to start a new one for each day.

I have just went to the Cardinals web site and read their press releases and there is nothing there that says they have expanded their broadcast territory and i just checked the MLB Extra Innings site on DirecTv’s website that still says My Zip Code is not in Cardinals Territory. In fact it says i’m in Atlanta’s & the Reds Territory Still. Where did you get your information from Scott Kocurek?

Wow, I did not know broadcast territories could change mid-season. I've heard of changes like this in the past, but always in the off-season, and typically DirecTV is good at notifying affected customers about these kinds of changes.

It sounds like the OP is screwed unless and until DirecTV can work out a deal with FOX to provide Cardinals games in his area, either through FS Midwest or through SportSouth. Even MLB.TV is not an option anymore, despite what their zip code lookup indicated (it would've been helpful if they had updated their database).
