For reference, TBS issued this updated listing for Cardinals territory about a month ago to their affiliates. It now includes Alcorn county.
    View attachment 23262

Hopefully it's just a matter of the people at the sports programming team updating their zip code listing to give your area Cardinals games via FS Midwest or the SportsSouth and FS South alternates. It does appear DirecTV has been good in giving the Cardinals games to the other parts of Mississippi that are in the territory, however they do require the Sports Pack for Tippah county, which is the next county over.

Just looked at that “Revised” list and Alcorn County has a “N” which I am assuming means “Not Suppose To Be Blacked Out” So how is it that has changed? All the places that are in Cardinals territory have a “Y” under the Category of “Blackout” i don’t get it. & if they “Did” just all of a sudden change right here during the Middle of the Season, well that is just sorry as He**.

The "N" means the entire state is not blacked out. You may be screwed as DirecTV pays FS Midwest a certain amount for viewers in the Cardinals market, and less for viewers who aren't in the Cardinals market. Since the change just happened, it could be a case where the ZIP code database needs to be updated, or it could mean DirecTV and FOX have to alter their carriage agreement to cover your county as it is now in the Cardinals market.

I can only tell you what I found out, I can't really say where I got the info from. I would guess there will be some sort of press release from the decision makers at some point.

I found out today that because of Rob37's posts here that he brought an issue to the surface and it should be resolved soon. The recent changes are to impact the ESPN, TBS, MLB only and not MLBEI.

Scott, your post makes it sound like without the problem being brought to light by Rob37, nothing would have been done. I hope that's not the case.

I still would like to know how Scott Kocourek found out that my area is just all of a sudden going to be blacked out from now on of all St. Louis Cardinals Games. He says he got info on that situation. How is it that a team can all of a sudden just "up and change" or expand broadcast territorial rights here at the mid-way point of the season? This is a very bad practice. And If It is the case then I'm going to say to heck with it all and I will "Cut The Cord" and cancel my DirecTv service. During the Course of the MLB Season I watch many St. Louis Games because they are in the National League Central, a division in which I have always been interested in and have watched because I am a Cubs fan. What brought this situation to my attention to begin with was the other night which was last Thursday I was blacked out from both the Cardinals Feed of the Ballgame & The Cubs Feed when the Cubs played on Comcast Sportsnet Chicago. The Game was on no other network that night. Not ESPN, Not TBS (TBS only does Sunday Afternoon Games which I already know) and it was not on MLB Network or the MLB Network Alternate Channel. That is what brought this situation to my attention. The Night before which was Wednesday night I could not receive the Cardinals vs Houston Astros Feed once again Could not receive either FOX Sports Midwest Channel 671 or the MLB Extra Innings Feed of the Houston Broadcast from Comcast Sportsnet Houston. Both Nights in a row no feed whatsoever was available. That Friday Afternoon the Cardinals played the Cubs again. Once Again Cardinals Feed was not available Channel 671 FOX Sports Midwest, WGN's Channel 307 Feed Was Available But that's because I was told that WGN Games are national everywhere and are never blacked out. So What Is The Deal? Where did you find out this information from? I mean seriously The Cardinals just decide to expand into my zip code and leave the fans here Blacked out? How Can They Possibly just do this in the middle of the year? My Area has always just been one county to the East Outside of Cardinals Broadcast Territory and Ever Since Dual Feeds have been made available on MLB Extra Innings, My Zip Code has always been able to watch either the Cardinals Feed or the Feed of their opponent whoever they were playing against that day/night. Now All of a Sudden NO FEEDS are available, Unless it's WGN, Or a Saturday Broadcast of FOX which was the case this past weekend. Then the Sunday Night Game was on ESPN, Once Again the Feed was available because it was National Sunday Night Baseball available everywhere.

I feel for you. It seems to be that to make sure you see your team, you have to either be in the local metro area to see it on your local RSN or 1000 miles away to see it on EI. In-between is a crapshoot. Outlying areas seem to fall into a Twilight Zone of coverage.

If I read Scott's last post right, he doesn't have to. Sounds like the MLBEI blackout was a mistake.

Tonight we will know if it was a mistake to black my area out. The San Diego Padres play at St. Louis. San Diego California is that 1,000 Miles Away from me. St. Louis is about 350 Miles away from me. If I’m Blacked Out Tonight. There is a DirecTv Blackout Mistake Going On That Needs to be corrected. I hope the Mistake is corrected. I’ll be watching at 7:15 PM Central Time to see if I get the game.

    Rob-

I haven't followed this closely enough to know if this ever could interfere with your watching, but: My BB team gets moved to another (NBC/Comcast/Comcast Sports Net) station without notice, and a few times to a station I didn't even know they controlled.

With all due respect, it would be silly of me to share my sources on a subject like this. I've earned my trust here over the years and people don't mind sharing information with me. Some of it I can share and other things I have to keep to myself.

It does show that my Giants may be shown on 31, and indeed they are so scheduled. [Sacto GMA.]

Question: When Fox is covering both home and away segments, is there real savings on stadium cameras and personnel as only one set is needed, or is there some sharing arrangement in place for cameras and grips, technicians, etc.?

No such thing as "Fox" covering both home and away -- each individual Fox Sports RSN is a separate entity and has its own contract with the team it's covering, etc.

Which is to say that they'll each have their own crew.
