I have seen a couple of post about minor issues with the actual HR21 box. Since it is not actually a software issue. I thought we will start a tread for this issue.

The two that I can remember and a mod can maybe move those post to this thread. One is the card and card door not closing. Also, the card door falls off easily.

My card door was detached when I opened the box, but it snapped right back on.

The access card door is really the only issue I have with the hardware. They need to move the card farther back so the door can close properly. I hope it's not too late for them to change the hardware like this.

Just to make sure it didn't get lost...

Someone did point out that the card-board box... still listed ATSC support

Yeah, that's really the only thing they need to change about the cardboard box. But I suspect they just used spare HR20 boxes, and the HR21 box will be different.

Does my apparent bad HDMI port fall under "box issues"?

Update: Not a bad HDMI port afterall.

I noticed that with these units, they did not have the usual bag around them. The shiny black paint was rubbed a little where the box fit into the foam packaging.

Same issue for me with the access doors very easily popping off, but on my HR21 the door over the access card fits nicely.

I haven't looked in the issues thread yet, but ... has anyone noticed if the fan on the left side of the HR21 fan is operating? Mine has not turned on once in the time I've been home last night and this evening. My temp is 115°F, so maybe it only turns on over a certain temp?

I just checked mine, it feels as though they're both running. 118°F here.

Mine's been running at 111 - 115 when I check and when I just shined a light at the fan and it wasn't spinning. But there have been times that I thought it was spinning. Have to check it more.

Hey, say-what, that's what I did. Flashlight shows no movement, and I even blew gently on the fan to make sure it wasn't seized. It moved, so it's either tied to the temp sensor and only turns on when needed, or it's disconnected? We're both in the same temp range, so I hope that's it.

Tony - Are you able to see if the fan is running? Right now my HR21 is on top of the TV stand, so it's got lots of air circulating around it. Sometime this weekend it will make it's way INTO the cabinet, so that might change things...

Can't see without unplugging it (I think, but I'll try). It's in a built in console. Best I could do is put my hands on both sides.

Well, it does spin, saw it during my rbr's, but it's stopped right now. So it is connected. Wonder what the threshold is?

And as I type this, I check and it's spinning, temp is 120.

Well, Tony was at 118° and was spinning, and we were at 115° and NOT spinning, so ... I think we're close to finding that threshold! :p
