I have a C61 Mini linked to a H54 Genie which connects to my Vizio P65 4K tv, that is almost unusable. It started with audio drops and beeps which after much time with DTV customer service and a tech here twice, is a software problem they are having and trying to figure out. The main reason that I removed the C61 is that it takes so long to bring up a station once you have changed stations that my tv thinks it has lost the signal and just goes blank. Usually I have to turn the tv off and back on again to get it to come up. I also have a H44 Genie that I moved in it's place and have no problems what so ever. In addition to the 2 Genie's I have 2 C41 Mini's, one linked to each Genie and have had no problems with those Mini's. Oh, did I mention that the C61 Mini has been replaced 3 times since I started having these problems. I've heard rumors that the are coming out with a 4K receiver (H64?), has anyone heard when this will be. I've been a DTV customer for almost 20 years and have never had these kind of problems. Any inputs would be appreciated.

Two Genies? We've heard the issue with multiple Genies is the minis have in determining which Genie to connect too. I wonder if that is your problem?

You state H54 Genie. That would be HR54 Genie.

You mentioned H44 Genie. Is that correct? Or HR44 as it could be either. But please confirm you have two Genies.
    Very rare
How long have you had these?

Sorry for the confusion, they are HR54 and HR44. I've had 2 HR44's for a couple of years and this past I upgraded one of them to a HR54, with the C61 Mini, when I purchased a 4K tv.

As mentioned, two Genies on an account is unusual.

Humor me. Disconnect the HR44, restart your 3 minis and the HR54 and see what happens.

I don't like the sound of this. I'm going to be ordering the HR54 and a C61 this Tuesday. Can't believe there are still bugs on these. Dish has ironed out most of their bugs for the Hopper 3 and Joey4k, hope Directv isn't falling too far behind.

The C61K's have their issues. But you are lucky to have two Genies. There are reports with mini's losing connections when the Genies reboot and reconnecting can be an issue. Might be part of the problem is you have an update or power failure.

But the audio issues have been widely reported since the C61K came out. If you didn't have a Vizio, you could connect via RVU and avoid the C61K.

I also have one C61 Mini linked to one HR54 Genie which connects to my Vizio P65 4K tv. I am not having any problems of any kind.

I've just had DIRECTV refresh my entire DIRECTV ecosystem (new dish, new swm, h54 and 3 c61 minis. One of the minis is connected to a Vizio M65-D0. I have not yet experienced any lag of the ui and have not experienced any audio drops. I have however, had a couple of problems when starting to play 4K content from the dvr, where the video is a snowy, grey picture. The only resolution I've found is to power off and power back on the mini.

Anyone else out there with the 2016 M series Vizio displays? 2)-5 is the optimal hdmi port for the c61? Port 1?

I've experienced resolution problems if the equipment does not start up in order. When I hot ON on the Direct remote, DTV powers first, then Vizio M-55, then surround receiver. If you power the receiver off and back on the resolution gets thrown out of whack. And mine has two 4K ports on 30hz and one 60hz. I use the 4K 60hz.

I have had these audio dropouts from day one of the install on both live and recorded shows, very annoying. I also am experiencing audio sync issues with the 4K channels (I don't know about the 4K movie channel because it is ridiculously priced).

You can't force client firmware updates.

I'm starting to think that this may be some sort of strange cabling issue. I too have an HR54 and C61K. While the audio dropouts have been an ongoing issue in my living room. The beeping just started when I added a Vizio P65. Before the Vizio, I had a Sony XBR65X900A which only experienced audio dropouts, with out any beeping.

Today I swapped out the C61 in the living room with the one in the man cave. No surprise at all, same symptoms. I then moved an HR21 to the living room, and for over 2hrs heard not one single beep. ( wasn't expecting and did not get any drop outs )

All the while the original C61 played away in the man cave without one single dropout, or beep. So tomorrow I think I may take everything apart in the living room and swap out coax and in-wall connectors as well.

Is there a limit to the number of c1Ks that you can have active?
    I currently have an HR54 and two c61Ks, a non-4k mini, along with 3 HR24s.
I am adding an additional 4k tv so I will need to move my 54 to a room that currently has a 24 and replace the 54 with a c61k.

C61K ? Why is the limit important ? HR54 is capable support only one ... who need the linkage itself ?

HR54 can support 3 mini's(any model) but it will only support one 4k tv at a time - the HS-17 will support 2 but you have to remove all your HR24's and should you go that route you can only use mini's with a hs-17 so I would not suggest that
