C61K-700 can not authorize

    I had two C61k-700s installed on Jan 8,2019. They can not get them authorized. They have sent a technician out twice, They where going to replace the c61k but now say that is on there end. they said that the have a software problem that they are working on. Does any one have this problem?

    Yes they are. Everything work except for the 4K. I can not go to the 4k channels. It says "This program you selected could not be authorized" They have tryed to authorize many times but they can. Thank for your concern.

    Has the 4k ever worked? What is the model and software version on the main genie box?

    Just in case:
    Just before you try the 4k channel, have you checked the resolutions setting to see if 4k is checked ?

    I will check the software versions in just a moment and see if that is up to datea couple other things to check make sure you have a reverse band lnb on the outside if you're not sure post a picture and I can tell you also go to a client make sure you are on live television doesn't matter what channel hold down the select button on the remote until the screen changes you may have to click on client info or something like that but somewhere in there it should tell you the last time the client was updated post the date that it gives you

    It says client software version 07e6 1/23/2016 both techs checked the lnb and said it was right. What tech support are say is that thier computer can not upgrade the client.

    Looks like improper software on the client to me unfortunately you cannot force download on clients they are set on a carousel every 20 minutes they look for new update sometimes they get stuck go to the genie 2 server press the red reset button on the side the lights will shut off when the light on the front turns white hold down the add client button on the top of the genie 2 until the white light starts to blink then releasethis will force the genie to to reinstall it software it will take about 20 minutes or so after everything loads back up the clients should do their own after everythingloads back up the clients should do their own software downloads within 20 minutes however sometimes it can take longer so just leave everything alone and check the 4K channels in a few hours

    Both techs that they sent out did just that, but it did not solve the problem.

    That software on your clients is years old and is probably your problem

    Hold the power button and the red reset button together on the clients for 30 seconds. This will force a factory reset on them and force them to re download software after boot. If your genie doesn’t have the latest software of them yet they should download in 24 hours. 10D1 is the latest software for the clients
