The guide says to call
It's been my experience to use the Protection Plan number (1-855-422-1614) Mon-Fri when experiencing issues or ordering equipment. Their CSRs are stateside and are more experienced and knowledgeable.
wanted to share my experience. I have 2 C61K and an HS17. I watch 4K on my LG 65" OLED TV.
The picture quality on most 4K programs is simply amazing. I can't understand how somebody can say they can't read the names unless things aren't set up correctly. (Some FOX sports are upconverted and not realy 4K HDR. But if you see a game in native 4k, it's like being there - perfect example was last week's LSU game on ESPN 4k.
And my HS17 has worked great since the start. I used to have 3 HR24s, and we found ourselves recording the same program 3 times. The HS17 is a lot faster, and I love the client/server model.
Not necessarily, they could have used a digital swm lnb and gave the tuners needed but not reverse band functionality.
The question the OP asked was whether his current "dish" was compatible with the C61K -700 client. Given he's currently using a HS17 the "dish" is compatible. "When" he upgrades to 4K service the tech will swap the LNB with a Reverse Band LNB.
If you read the entire thread his first post said
"My questions are:
Can I just purchase a C61K online to replace one of my genie minis to get 4K content?"
He then asked about climbing on roof to see if his dish would support his c61k and by his first post he meant would he get 4k service.
Read Post #2!
I got 4K service a little over a year ago and they did not replace my LNB which is shown in settings to be a SL3 LNB (4 wires coming out of it). Should that LNB be replaced with a reverse band LNB?
NO- but at some point - it will need to be replaced -but for now your okay
I'm Guessing you have a HS17-100 -- The 500's are a problem
-500 here with 6 clients for over a year and zero problems. And quite the opposite. The people with more issues on the edgecutter website have the -100 model. Regardless though it is the same hardware just made by a different company
877-999-1083 which is ATT Retention.
Call the Protection Plan number (1-855-422-1614) Mon-Fri during business hrs. Their CSRs are stateside and are more experienced and knowledgeable.
Let me explain my comment: First, I've never said I had a 4K setup. Not gonna go any farther, that should be enough. I hope that clarifies it.
Thanks. When I get over this last call I'll try that number.
I am reminded of the Family Feud program ... 100 people surveyed, top 6 answers on the board ... the contestants have to guess the most popular answers to the question, not the correct answer to the question. The questions are opinion based not fact based, so guessing what opinion is most popular works. (A fact based question would be "what is the highest selling fruit", an opinion based question would be "what is your favorite fruit".)
On Family Feud the "correct" answer is aggregating other people's opinions.
There is unknown future placement 4k/UHD channels onto Reverse Band.
It would be misconception of some posters here...
more likely DTV will continue fill up the RB transponders by minor packages like International.
I am close, too. Look forward to your review. I know it will give me a 2 year contract and I will lose a bunch of stuff on my Genie.
I can live with the commitment, I just hope I can see the names on the uniforms. Don't have any programs stored on most of my HRs. Just one has some Hallmark content. I'll make the call when I calm down.
Not a issue.
