My brother is very ill and I'm planning to spend some time with him. He doesn't subscribe to DTV, but he does live in a place that still has a couple of abandoned DTV dishes mounted to the top of an outbuilding. Apparently, all of the wiring, including a power inserter and a splitter, were left in his basement when the service was terminated. Not to come of as "better" than anyone else, especially my own brother, but we have DTV service in just about every room in our house, including the garage...so I was thinking that I might take our old 2009 HR23-700 receiver out of the garage, pack it up and take it with me while I stay up north. That way, I can view what I'm used to without affecting, or otherwise putting out, a family member. Can a DTV like the one I described be moved and used in a different state?
