The last time I dealt with this was three years ago when I replaced a Tivo HD DVR with the DirecTV HD DVR. At that time, I could still ask for the "smart card," department, and they tagged the new receiver as a former primestar customer, to waive the additional receiver fee. I actually have 4 receivers on my account (although only 2 are used), and I do not get charged additional receiver fees for being former primestar customer, but again none of the regular CSRs ever knew about this and only the smart card department. Does anyone know if this is *still* the case? I ask because one of my receivers went out and I'm having to replace it. Any idea if I should try to get the additional fee waived again on the new one, or have they finally stopped doing that for former primestar customers? Thanks!
