They did the packaging when I returned my last broken receiver.
I was directed to take it to the UPS store.

Can anyone tell me the normal time after service is shut off before you here what equipment needs to be returned, and the process. Everything has gone normally (as described to me in the cancellation call) so far. That is the cancellation happened the next day after where I was paid through, the cancellation Email was sent the same day, but that was the end of it. I was led to believe I would get an Email on equipment returns the same day as the cancellation Email. That has not happened.

The only thing I have received since the cancellation is a snail mail letter about the great deals to re-enlist. I can understand holding up the equipment returns a bit to accommodate accepting one of their offers, but I also don't want this to fester if I owe them equipment, which I likely do. I have an HR21 which they probably don't want, an HR25 which they may or may not want, and an HR44 which they likely want back. The HR44 has been with me since 2013 so i don't know if that is too old, or not.

Just a quick follow up to my post directly above this one. I did just now get the Email for equipment to be returned. Surprisingly they only want the H25-500 back, and are apparently not interested in the Genie HR44-700. They said just bring it to the UPS store. You can bet I am saving this Email for a while as I have a bunch of stuff to take to the electronics recycler tomorrow, and the HR21 & HR44 are going with it.

In my letter and in the shipping list they only wanted the Genie 2 and the C-61K Mini. But the box had foam slots for four minis so the two C-41's went back with the other stuff. Shouldn't be any questions at all about that, but hey, it's AT&T/DirecTV. who knows?

That's not going to happen. There is nothing in the letter that says to store their equipment for them in case they change their minds, and I'm good at following instructions.

Do you suppose they will find some 3-in-one oil during those 6 months?

I dropped off the H25 they wanted back at a UPS store today as instructed. If at some point they decide they also want the HR44 back, I'll give them the # of the electronics recycler that has it.

General recommendation: Take all the receivers back to to UPS. They will scan them in to the system. If they refuse to take a receiver then turn it in to recycle.

When I cancelled about a month ago they wanted not only my HR-23 but both my HR-21 receivers as well. Nothing like consistency. :) :)
