How much did those TiVo’s cost you
Oh it can be worse than what you have Go read some Comcast or Cox or Spectrum forums with people in arms about PQ and Comcast down reszing everything to 720p to save bandwidth
Yes it can Rich. SPECTRUM is my internet service provider. I pay my bill at their outlet. There are three monitors on the wall displaying their HD cable TV service. The picture quality on all three look like upscaled DVDs.
Haven't had a cable company receiver in my home for many years. Didn't think it could be much worse than what I see on D* but...
DTV actually looks pretty good. Especially some channels. One of my go to channels for demos is CNN. They have a very sharp PQ with no pixilation and nice vivid colors.
I think if I do end up cancelling, I'd probably go to Cox instead of Dish. Dish doesn't seem to have promo rates for starters and switching between DirecTV for new customer promos is a lot easier then DirecTV <-> Dish. I'd just have to reconnect some RG6's that idiot techs from both Cox and DirecTV have cut over the years on various service calls.
I should have been clearer. The PQ on sports bothers me, specifically the long shots. I know the PQ on D* is generally better than other providers.
Spectrum varies greatly from area to area. I've had Spectrum recently in my area here in Michigan and had absolutely no complaints with the picture quality or reliability of the service. Now their equipment is a completely different story, it's ancient outdated stuff. I would say Spectrum here at my location is close to DIRECTV in terms of picture quality. I'll still give DIRECTV the slight edge, but Spectrum has really improved their picture in recent years, in my area at least. I remember when they used to be nearly unwatchable.
