Cancelling Directv

    I signed up for Directv on July 11, 2016 and my Directv was installed on July 16, 2016. I'd like to cancel as soon as my 2 year contract ends this month because I am cutting the cord but I can't figure out when my contract actually ends. Does my 2 year contract end two years from the date I signed up (July 11th) or two years from the date it was installed (July 16)? Do I need to wait until the last day of my contract to cancel, or do I need to cancel the next day, after my 2 year contract has officially ended?

    Call them and ask them for Contract End Date. Also ask them when should you cancel to avoid a cancelation fee and to avoid paying for the next month.

    Not sure, but I'd think the commitment kicks in when you activate the first D* device.

    The contract begins on the date your equipment was activated.

    I think I am out of contract. It was on my account. It's possible AT&T removed it from our accounts. Ask around. Maybe someone else saw it. I would call AT&T and say contract date or contract end date. Be nice about it. They may give you the answer you are looking for. Good luck!
