Can't Log In To DirecTV iPad App After Changing Account Password

    After changing my DirecTV account password, I am no longer able to log in to the DirecTV App on my iPad. It says "Incorrect email/password combination" when I try to log in. I called DirecTV. They passed me around to three different people, none of whom had an answer other than to change my password again and then try it. Changing the password again didn't help. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

    I've had that issue before and either one of two things has usually resolved it. First, try forcing close the iPad app. Double tap the Home button to bring up the Task Switcher. Find the DirecTV app and press and hold on it until it begins to shake and a "minus" sign appears. Tap on the "minus" sign. If that doesn't work, try deleting the app and reinstalling it.

    I've only been able to fix this issue by uninstalling and reinstalling on the iPad.

    And that's a pain when you've set everything up in the app the way you want it... Would be nice if all your settings were stored in the Cloud... That way you could even have multiple devices all set up the same after just configuring one...

    Same with SLs. Store in the cloud, within our account at DirecTV, export to a flash drive.....

    you can accomplished the same by going to the settings app and select "clear @ log in" on start up

    Thanks peds -- I just tried it just now, but it didn't work. Of course my password at DirecTV hasn't changed, so I will certainly try this the next time I change my password.

    What you mean it did not work? all it does is erase the log in info and ask again

    It didn't ask for my email address or password. I even restarted my iPad.

    Yes, the app was closed. I toggled the clear @ log in on start up to on and then restarted GenieGo. Right into the app. So I got out, restarted and tried again. Still right into the app.

    But it isn't an issue with me right now as I haven't changed my password.

    OK. I figured out a convoluted way to fix my problem. First, I deleted the DirecTV app from my iPad. Then I did an iCloud backup of everything. I then erased my iPad's contents and restored it from a previous, two month old backup. When I clicked on the DirecTV app, it then worked fine!

    A pain, but at least you didn't need to redo your entire setup in the app again...
