I thought this was pretty funny and shows more evidence that people will try to sue over anything.

    Peachtree...
What would have made this even better was if the judge had ordered Ms. Janine Sugawawa was responsible for ALL attorney fee's and court costs. Maybe if someone like this was forced to fork out some real money, this type of idiocy would end.

The only reason stories like this appear in the news is that silly lawsuits like this one are rare. If they were common, it wouldn't be news. Private airplane crashes often make the news. Private car crashes seldom do.

The courts don't look favorably on frivoulous suits and it's quite likely the defendant will make a motion to recover its costs and be awarded them by the court.

Pesonally, though, I think Quaker Oats/Pepsi deserves to be sued over the very idea of Cap'n Crunch with "Crunchberries!" It's just wrong to mess with perfection. Leave my Cap'n Crunch alone. (And don't get me started on "Peanut Butter Crunch" - yuck!)

And here I thought this was about hacking free telephone calls by Captain Crunch, who got his name from the whistles in the boxes.

Wow, how can you not like the Crunchberries? I haven't had sugary cereal in 25 years or so but I remember the few times we had it with fond memories.

While I grew with and like regular Cap'n Crunch, was a HUGE fan of Peanut Butter Crunch!

However, did not like how each always scratched the roof of your mouth!?! I did not let that stop me though.....

I heard this on the radio yesterday as I was going home and I was like this can't be real, but apparently their are some people out there who're absolutist. I would suspect that those folks who tried to sue really were serious about their suite. It makes you wonder where some people's common sense went.

touch tones still make noises when you dial them, that's how the phone line knows what number you're calling. The Cap'n whistle was different, basically it bypassed the billing system so you could dial numbers and not pay for them. Some phones don't let you hear the tone noise, but they still make it down the line.

That I figured, but it was the tones one could hear that created touch tone composers.
