DirecTV has no control over whether the games are blacked out on MLB.TV. They couldn't "fix" that if they wanted to.

Sorry for the confusing mix of pronouns. What I MEANT was "Of course if you ram that down their throats at DTV, it might result in MLB "fixing" At Bat, and you might lose that too."

I downloaded the FOX Sports Go App. The only Baseball team I can get on it are the Atlanta Braves from FOX Sports South and FOX Sports Southeast. I don't even get the Cincinnati Reds on it & I am considered to be in their MLB Broadcast Territory. So Go Figure.

FOX Sports Go tells me I can get the Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves tonight at around 6:30 PM. I can already get FOX Sports South Braves Games no matter what on DIRECTV.

See FOX Sports Go doesn't even let me see The Reds on it. So that ain’t correct neither if you’re supposed to get your in Market Clubs.

MLB's lookup shows the Cardinals are out of market for Rob, as does DirecTV's. There is nothing for MLB to fix.

I think it has been determined that it is a DIRECTV issue. But DIRECTV claims that MLB tells them which games they have to Black Out and in what areas. The office of the President told me over the phone that "they are in negotiations with the Cardinals to get the games restored" which I am not buying.

The Cardinals play the San Francisco Giants tonight on FOX. It’ll be interesting to see if they Black Out that game. According to 506 Sports.com my local FOX Affiliate is supposed to carry that game.

It would be very interesting to learn how this is done -- individually game by game (or week by week, or...), or just some sort of general instructions. My GUESS (only) is that general guidelines were communicated before the season that somebody at DTV had to interpret and enter into their system. Once that happened then all you get from DTV is "this all came from MLB and we can't change it" -- without ever looking into it further to see if it had been set up correctly in the first place.

I haven't a clue how you can get them off of top dead center on this. Sometimes your best bet is to make a stink on a company's Facebook page where it is widely seen, making them more eager to avoid the publicity, not in a specialized forum with more limited viewership like this one.

Like I posted earlier, ESPN's and Turner's lists have his zip code flagged for Cardinals blackouts too, which affect all providers, not just DirecTV. (I would have checked what iNDemand says on the blackout list I have from them, but his local Comcast system doesn't offer any out of market packages so his system isn't listed in their blackout sheet)

(If you haven't seen the posts and screenshots in other threads I've made over the years, you should know I have direct access to affiliate resources, so you should trust me when I say those lists came from the MLB. Turner and ESPN just pass it along to their affiliates so the engineers at cable headends won't be surprised when their TBS receiver is retuned to HLN and ESPN and ESPN2 are retuned to ESPNEWS)

As for the game airing on your local Fox station, that won't be blacked out. Fox only has about 3 games on their nights and each local Fox affiliate is assigned one game, even in territory viewers of those teams only get the game on Fox. i.e. tonight's Giants/Cardinals, Rangers/Tigers and Angels/Mets games are only produced by Fox, while Extra Innings is using Fox network feeds for the other games not airing on your local Fox station. It's not the same as other national channels like TBS or ESPN.

KyL416: The MLB lookup clearly shows that the Cardinals are out-of-market for Rob's zip code. They aren't going to black out the games based on what Turner and ESPN are showing.

It doesn't matter what the MLB's lookup says. Yes he should be able to get those games, nobody here is disputing that. The problem is MLB gave Turner, ESPN, DirecTV (and possibly Dish) a bad list that has his zip code flagged for Cardinals blackouts.

Even if we were able to get in touch with someone at DirecTV that had the ability to override it, that would only take care of Extra Innings. The ESPN and Turner blackouts are handled remotely from Bristol and Atlanta. Until MLB sends out a corrected blackout list, the TBS and non-Sunday Night ESPN games would still be blacked out in his area for ALL providers, not just DirecTV.

on an old AM radio I have been listening to KMOX at night. I can listen to the games after dark like people used to do in the 1950’s & 1960’s. I’ll Be Damned if I call DIRECTV back and beg the technicians to fix this issue. One thing is for certain this will be my last summer paying for EXTRA INNINGS & as soon as my contract ends with DIRECTV. I am DONE with this company. They are going to lose a very loyal customer since 1997.

So what are you going to do to get your games next season? Your local Comcast system doesn't offer Extra Innings, and Dish might have the same issue if they're going by the same list MLB gave Turner, ESPN and DirecTV. (And if Dish's local lookup tool is correct, they might not have any option for your area to get the Reds)

Also keep in mind, if you "cut the cord" and only do MLB.tv, you'll lose access to all games involving the Braves and Reds, as well as nationally televised TBS, FS1 and ESPN games.

I won't be giving AT&T anymore money. I don’t care about the Braves & Reds. They are not my clubs. I am growing tired of DIRECTV. My bill is too high. I have been talking it over with my family and I think we’re going to cut the cord after the contract ends. We can't get the games we want to see anyway not with the way that this situation is so messed up. I used to love getting NFL Sunday Ticket but I have already decided we aren't paying for that package this year.

The MLB lookup is the ONLY thing that matters regarding what games get blacked out on MLB.

I think what was being said is that the list given by MLB to DIRECTV et al is at odds with the public lookup list shows.

what is happening is DIRECTV has the Cardinals Games in my area Blacked Out on MLB Extra Innings just like if I were to try to watch them on MLB.TV Or the At Bat App if I were in market. Blacking out all possible feeds of that game.
