I wonder if there are any thoughts aobut the best way to keep the PI working well for the long term (> 3 years).

While my attic likley will not get hotter than 125 degrees (The attic is ventalated and also has an outlet fan) it does get hot-lilet about 120.

I can not put the PI in the attic on a backup power supply.

Is the current design rugged enough to live for long times with occational spikes and temperature varions that are with in its specs-but do reach close to them?

If the answer is yes-fine-if it is not, then perhaps we all should work out wiring scenarios to bring the PI inside.

UPS... Connected inside your home near one of your units... .since you can have up to about 75ft cable between the PI and your dish.
I am going on almost 18 months on the original PI, with no issues..

The PI is rate for INDOOR situations.... attics are that "in-between" where it is dry, but it certainly reaches extremes in temps
