The wifi stands up. Also has more lights on it. And yes it would need the deca.
Where was it determined that it was a DNS issue?
It could be an IP address issue, and the router's range of numbers may not begin with 208.
While it can be done with a "simple" cable, the WCCK is for homes that need WiFi, since powerline adapters have [thankfully] gone away.
I'm trademarking that now and using it in my interior design magazine for tech weekly
And I will post all wifi installation stuff I have in morning.
Oh OK...I have had wifi forever and just assume everyone else does by now. Most ISP's have wireless built into their modems now.
Error 22 is a Dns error. 13 is local ip. No physical Ethernet. Check connections test again.
I think you're missing what's going on here:
One HR21 that needs a WiFi connection for internet.
The WCCK can and should be connected to the HR21 ethernet and that's it.
The coax shouldn't run through the WCCK either or the SAT feed will have problems with the DECA signal.
This comes straight out of the WCCK manual and how it should be:
I've been at this thread since the beginning almost. There is an IP conflict at 10.0.0.10 and error 22 on the CCK or receiver, I forget which. Someone here said 22 means DNS issue on whatever device gave that error. I assumed it was the receiver since it is the only one with a display connected to it.
Okay here's a few pictures
Let me see how many others I can get to join in here and we can really screw the OP up. !rolling
Ok, so theres coax running to the CCK-W so that suggests you have a receiver DECA too or something's not hooked up right. Is the ethernet cable going from the receiver to the CCK-W or the black rectangular as yet unidentified box?
If this is a one HR21 receiver setup, without another receiver, then you should seriously rewire this to the configuration posted just above.
You shouldn't have the coax run through the WCCK, nor have the black DECA connected to your HR21.
Take the ethernet cable from the WCCK and run it to the HR21.
The only time ethernet touches the back of the ird from the back of cck- w is when it is a ka/ku install. Otherwise coaxial comes from the lnb thru The cckw and then to reciever with no Ethernet cable. This would hypothetically disable Mrv if it applied and cckw would have missing lights. And this is a fact.
This looks like another installer who had his head up.... [where he shouldn't].
HR21 to DECA to WCCK to router, but should be:
HR21 [ethernet[ to WCCK, that DOESN'T have the coax connected to it.
I agree with this suggestion.
You are correct but not for this case.
This isn't a H/HR24, so there is no internal DECA to disable, nor does it have MRV, since it's a single HR21 install.
This install "merely" needs the WCCK to connect the HR21 ethernet port to the WiFi router.
Ethernet is running from the unknown device to the dvr
This thread is hilarious. I bet we are taxing the DBSTalk server. The New Posts link can't even keep up.
