Ch 104 Error 721

    So I recently received an HR54 as a replacement for a failed HR44. Yes, in the past i was of course NOT able to receive 4k programming with the HR44.... I have a C61K client and can view Channel 105, 106 live 4K events without issue... enjoyed an Avalanche hockey game the other night. My issue however is channel 104. I keep getting an error 721. I've tried for several hours with DirecTV reps who simply want to re-send the signal to my receiver, or claim it is not in my package. Not getting much help. Any suggestions or ideas? I have a case open with the Office of the President, however so far they too are stumped. Thx.

    Some games on 104 are for local only(aka blackout in your area).

    104 isn't a 4k live sports channel so that wouldn't apply.

    Update - Issue is solved (for now at least). Had a nice lady from the office of the president assist me. It was an account level issue, although to be honest i am not totally sure what she changed to fix the problem. If I find out, I will be sure to update this post in the hopes of helping others.

    I don’t remember who it was, but I think someone else on here had the exact same issue and had to do what you did to solve their problem.

    If you had a 44 and got a 54 this makes sense because there would be no reason for 4K to be authorized on your account So it had to be turned on

    That was me and what he ended up doing is what I always have to do when I lose channel 104. Go through the Office of the President which is the only way to get it fixed when you lose channel 104.

    He had 4K on 105, 106, 107, and 108. He was missing the authorization for channel 104.

    That would make sense if he wasn't getting the other 4k channels, but he was.

    104 may be the only one that need authorization

    According to the first person in the Office of the President that fixed this issue for me there is a separate activation for 4K and for channel 104 that they have neglected to let their support people know about. The most recent person there that fixes this for me says he just refreshes 4K so who knows. All I know is if you go through normal support and they "refresh" 4K it doesn't work. I lose this channel anytime there si a change to my account. Get a credit, get a new remote, get NFL ST, or get MLB EI...anything that makes someone there make a change to my account I lose channel 104 and have to get it fixed via the Office of the President.

    OP here... just got a phone call from my Rep at the Office of the President to follow up. During the call I asked her what she did to fix the issue. She indicated that my order for the HR54 that replaced the bad 44 I had was "stuck". Even though the receiver came and was in fact active... it wasn't showing properly in my account. She got that resolved and once done, channel 104 came to life. Having said that... I have no idea why 105 and 106 worked. Based on what she said, I believe that should not have functioned. Oh well... hopefully it is a "one off" situation, but with AT&T you never know. LOL.

    Yeh i dont think 105 or 106 ever required an authorization since they are just 4K mirrors of channels you may have in your package

    I think you need to have 4k authorized on your account to get any of the 4k channels.

    i don't know why 4K needs to be authorized in the first place if it's in ones package and they have the right hardware to broadcast it. it would be less of i headache if it didn't need to be authorized

    a tech told me the authorization was a software glitch but who knows

    I have had excellent customer service with ATT and had bad experiences with Directv in the past Everyone’s experience is different with every customer service rep
