Eight-year customer here that just received three months of Game Lounge. Immediately called in to cancel it because I don't want my young kids playing with it, and they happily removed it. No offer of any substitute gift, and I'm ok with that.

I have been with DirectV for 7 years. Last year was the first time I received an anniversary gift(as far as I know) and it was Showtime free for 12 months. This anniversary I got 3 months of Game Lounge which I would never use so I emailed DirecTv and thanked them for gift but ask if they could change it to something else. I got email back next day and they had changed it to 3 months of Free Showtime.

I just got GL as a gift for my 3rd year anniversary. I need to call today to cancel STARZ, so I'll ask if they can switch my gift to the Sportspack, just in time for college football season.

Asked if I could switch it out (to Sportspack) but no dice. Oh well.

They wouldn't trade out or remove my GL anniversary gift either. So then I just asked if there was any promo for Showtime and they gave me 2 mo's free. People are getting a $10 discount for 6 mo's if the add SP, you might ask about that. I got it last year during the NHL season.

I'm going to add SP a month from now when I ditch SHO (need one more month to qualify for the 3-mo $25 rebate), so I'll ask when I do that.
