I am thinking of changing packages, $114 a month is just to much. I currently have Choice Extra Classic
and have been with D* for 10 years... the D* website makes it so difficult to know what channels I would lose by going down... any thoughts?

I don't remember the actual channels, but I do remember tat I never watched them.
Once you change you can not have the Classic back.

Why not give them a call and see what they can do? If you're not under contract and you've paid your bills on time you have a good shot of getting some credits.

Go to directv.com - sign in to my account > my programming -> view channel lineup.
From there you can see/print different packages and the offerings.

If you go down to Xtra from Choice Xtra Classic you lose the following:
    235 Esquire
    257 Chiller
    298 Boomerang
    341 El Rey
    464 Univision Deportes

    You also gain the following:
    342 Fusion
    346 BBC World News
    384 Revolt
    408 UniMas West
    557 Sundance TV

For me I like a few of the ones I would lose and dont care about any of the ones I would gain. I am happy with the Grandfathered package. Its not worth giving up to save a few dollars.

Hmm, I have Choice Xtra Classic and I already have four of those "gain" channels -- all but UniMas West (but I have a UniMas station in my locals anyway). Good thing, too, since I actually do watch one show that airs on Fusion.

Is it perhaps because I originally had Total Choice Plus as my base package and haven't touched it since?

Same here, which is why I've also never changed packages. The website doesn't do a good job showing the packages

I have Choice Xtra Classic and, when I last checked on this (for a relative on December 23, 2015), it looked FX Movie Channel was also available in Choice Xtra Classic but not in Choice Xtra.

(I looked on the "DirecTV" website; some information was not accurate. It included listing programmers apparently not available in Choice Xtra Classic which I, in fact, receive.)

What I noted with Choice Xtra ($77.99 per month) has that Choice Xtra Classic ($79.49 per month) does not are the following:

    2068 incTV
    2073 MHZ World View

Now, I don't have a satellite dish to get those two listed. So, I am not entirely certain if that is accurate.
