Was sent a HR24 refurb to replace an old HR20. The old set up had the B band converters in place so I set the unit up in the same manner.

All went well, guide info loaded, and I though all was well.

The next day all the guide info was gone, and was replaced with TBA on all channels.

Rebooted and ll came back, but the next day it was all gone again.

    Any ideas?

Did you call DIRECTV and ask them? How would we know?

Sounds like your receiver is restarting every night while you are asleep. If you have a digital clock, remove the battery backup from it, plug it in the same spot the receiver is plugged into. If the lights / numbers are flashing in the morning you will know that you are getting a slight interruption of power. If it is not blinking and your guide is still missing the receiver is probably faulty and you need to call for another replacement.

I figured it might be the receiver, as it does this during the day. Going to do some checking with DTV in the morning.

Just thought that someone here might have seen or heard of the problem before, and for the other reply that was a utterly useless waste of time, that's why I asked.

Just reboots for no reason? Yes, I have seen that from time to time. Always caused and corrected by software updates, tho. You might be better off getting that replaced. I gather you did not have the same problems with the HR20? If that is true I'd get a replacement.

That happened to me several times in late 2009 to early 2010. I used what I wrote to test if I was losing power or not. It worked. I bought a UPS for each TV setup and the problem went away.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the bbcs are bad and causing this.
