copying dvr external hard drive

    Usually, DVR's don't allow copying HD data to an external hard disk. Just a built-in limitation.

    seems to me you missed the point and made boo-boo :D

    a hint: remove the internal HDD for the copy process ;)

    The information on the disk is encoded for the specific unit it was recorded on. If your intent is to copy and use elsewhere, you're out of luck.

    (Exception: Programs recorded using the AM-21 off-air antenna unit are not "married" to the unit they were recorded on.)
