Like Directv does for Hurricanes, there is now a News Mix Channel now on Channel 200.

4 Channels so you can quickly switch to their Audio.
Lots of information out there and of course lots of personal opinions on the channels so be sure to mix it up and watch some of all 4 and then decide on your own which information is valid.
Guess thats why the call it the News Mix channel.

It’s be even better if they would do a wrap around channel pulling from local newscasts in different states, the governor’s press conferences, etc.

You can watch several local CBS-owned newscasts on the CBSN app (NYC, LA, Bay Area, Boston, Philly, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Denver, and soon Chicago and Dallas). Of course, there's always NewsON and individual station apps through Roku, etc.

I assume they're trying to limit the number of personnel they need working in the broadcast center, so they're not going to do anything that requires manual intervention, i.e., figuring out when to switch the feed from local station to local station.

Also, this isn't a "wall-to-wall hurricane coverage" situation -- aside from they're carrying speeches/press conferences live, local stations' newscasts are airing with commercials and other material that DirecTV doesn't have the rights to rebroadcast (and they're generally running their regular non-news programming outside of scheduled newscast times).

I have beeN staying away from tv news and just depending on newspapers, the worldOmeter and some specific YouTube channels. I have watched as the constant CNN and NBC newscast have turned some of my relatives into basket cases.

If it's CNN, FOX News, MSNBC. I won't be interested. We all can get those channels on their respective channels. Now if it were Local Channels from some of the coronavirus "Hot Spots" that would be a whole new ballgame.

I'm not finding much point to the news mix. You can see the banners and guests at the same time on the selected channels by going to the mix channels but when it is all wall to wall coverage and everything important is on all of the selected channels the point is lost.
