People have been predicting an Apple HDTV since 2005.

I think the current AppleTV puck is the best choice right now.

Here's the logic. If you want to develop an Input 1 device, you are competing with the likes of TiVo, DirecTV, Comcast, Dish Network, etc. Apple is doing so well with an Input 2 device, however they need to get Hulu support.

To me the whole Apple HDTV thing doesn't make sense.

I wonder if their goal is to create a ipad, appletv, and an HDTV into one item....

First I gotta wonder about the price. Second I gotta assume that Apple would have the good sense they usually have and put an optical out port on the TV so you can feed an AV system with 5.1, or higher, sound. It drives me up a wall every time I look at one of my Panny plasmas and see the optical out port on the back and know it only puts out PCM. The Pannys take HDMI and convert the sound to PCM? Why?
