Crazy thought

    I doubt it. The network is already there and the only change is the media type for networking. The DVR does not care about that as long as it has a RJ45 plugged into the network port and a cable plugged into the tuner.

    Yeah, and "all I need is" a 1 Gb/s upload connection. :lol:

    Well in any case....it would seem we don't have long to wait to find out the final details and actually see this critters in person. If it doesn't show up Monday or Tuesday....I'll have to wait until I get back from traveling (back on the road a bit) Saturday.

    I suspect we'll actually go through a series of tests:

    1) Different devices connected
    2) Different connections for Internet (wireless, cable, DSL, etc.)
    3) Different configurations of SWM network itself) locations, splitters, etc.

    Lots to look forward to testing this stuff!

    Back to your thought:

    I think it would be awesome, it (the IRD's) realize it's on a closed loop and wouldn't let anything out and one would have the ability to transfer! Let's be honest, we know it would be possible. Having the dongles and everything else "married" to the account somehow, it could be done! :)
