There's a Fox Sports Net package that includes them all.

I don't think a restaurant being able to get it means anything as far as a residential account being able to get it in the same location. The channels are offered differently to each, there is no "sports package" you can buy as a commercial account that includes everything. If you wanted "everything" you'd have to get a bunch of different things like the aforementioned Fox Sports Net package, various other groups of channels in packages, plus channels that are sold individually like Golf Channel, BTN and SECN.

I am not a fan of the new graphic dead center at bottom of screen and the never disappearing ticker. How can they use that much screen and not have the pitch speed anywhere?

The ticker is from MLB Network and not Marquee no? I watched Marquee games on At Bat and it wasn't always there.

Gotcha. I noticed the logo in the bottom right as being MLB Network so I thought that was why it was always on.

No that is from Marquee. I could see having it popup occasionally to show scores but it shows news and scores from all sports and is there always. And the game info graphic right above it needs to be moved to the upper left or right corner. And it needs to show the speed of pitches thrown too.

I watched the first part of last nights game on MLB-TV via a web browser on a Mac with a Retina 5K display. The last half I watched at home on my TV via MLB-TV on the Apple 4K TV and the PQ was very noticeably better on the ATV.

The Dodgers just signed a deal with AT&T/DIRECTV to allow their channel to be available on Channel 690 after 6 full seasons of not being available it finally is. The Cubs channel Marquee shows up in the guide but isn't available to Sports Pack Subscribers. The Cubs need to make this right and allow the channel to be available on the Sports Pack as well.

It is Marquee and the Cubs that only wants it available in the Chicago market.

How do know this? I suspect they wanted the same fee for everywhere or only do in market. And I assume everyone would balk at charging the same amount in all markets when you can’t even get the games out of market.

It was either at Cubs convention or when Marquee launched Crane Kenny was interviewed and stated that they would consider expanding outside of the Chicago market at a later date.

Right. Let's just hope it doesn't take 6 years like it did for the Dodgers Channel.

Honestly, I think it's going to take much less time than that. DirecTV already has the channel, which is a big help.
It still floors me that looking at how the other RSNs work across the country, that the Cubs and Sinclair didn't simply take care of the channel being cleared on satellite nationally like NBC Sports Chicago and the other networks from the start. Maybe such a thing would have held up negotiations so they figured, let's take of Cubs territory first and then everything else later.

I'll bet that's the reason. They saw what happened with the Dodgers Channel and didn't want any part of that fiasco. Allowing providers to negotiate for Chicago carriage only made it a lot easier to get them to sign up, since it doesn't affect a provider's P&L outside that area. Sinclair just needed to get a few big providers signed up, that puts pressure on the rest to follow or risk having customers leave for another.

I always assumed Sinclair bought the RSNs so they can bundle them up when their contracts for locals are renegotiated. So when Sinclair's locals contract comes up with AT&T the contract will include not only the locals, but also all the RSNs and require Marquee be carried in the sports package nationwide. When Dish's contract for Sinclair locals comes up, I'll bet Sinclair forces them to add back all the RSNs - or pay a higher price for those locals than anyone else is paying.

They can force comcast to take the cubs network or cut off local news even if there are 0 games on

They can't "cut off local news" until the contract for locals expires.

This is true but this is Sinclair they can wait until the contract expires and the pandemic is over then pull the locals to get Comcast to carry Marquee.

Yes that's what I've been saying was likely their plan ever since they were mentioned as a suitor for the Fox Sports Net RSNs.
