Huh? I thought this place is full of perfect people......
I just did it to point out the irony of calling someone incompetent and misusing the English language to boot which obviously stirred up a lot of people. You call someone else an id10t, you better have all your ducks in a row.
fyi, directv just changed all of their l&i pricing - find a local dealer to deal with, you will do much better. and, whilst i am here, there is a big difference between feeling you're nuts and feeling your nuts.
It is better to speak out. The excuses that "it's just a forum" or "it is a technical forum" (it is?) are weak. Proper grammar and spelling should always be used, especially in public. The internet demise of grammar, spelling and the arbitrary use of words outside (or even opposite) their meaning is leading us down the path of non-communication. No reason to just let it be a mess. Typos are one thing. Intentionally being sloppy is another.
Mentioning it is one thing. Observing it, forming an opinion about the poster, whether or not you comment on it, is happening with everyone who reads the post. You may post perfectly correct technical information, but do so in a manner that is so painful to read (due to spelling and/or grammatical errors) that your message does not get communicated.
As to whether or not you "are applying for a job in the corporate world", your electronic trail is not hard to find/follow. Paying attention to detail "only when someone important is looking" and disregarding it at other times is a sure-fire road to failure.
Everyone makes an occasional spelling error or grammatical error. But consistent posting of information riddled with both certainly speaks volumes about the poster.
"D has turned into Comcast, it's ran by incompetent idiots..

Would it have better if they were run by competent idiots.
Instead of the old joke, I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out; we got, I went into a Directv thread and an English lesson broke out.
Please get :backtotop
If you all would like to continue the grammar conversation please start a thread in the OT.
But yeah, back on topic
Personally, having dealt with both rather extensively, I find the incompetent idiots ranning Comcast far less tolerable than their counterparts at DIRECTV.
Well said! As usual.
Huh. That did slip by all of us. Good catch!
Ahhhhh, the good old Internet grammar police. Next time I'll proof read before I post because clearly run vs ran completely changes the context of what I was posting... /sarcasm.
Moving on, I went with comcrap as DTV never called me, ATT doesn't know if Uverse is offered at that location and Dish I didn't even bother calling.
In other news this post reminded me why I rarely come here anymore, really nothing of value is gained on these forums anymore. There was a a time with new HD channels and equipment this forum kept people in the loop but now its just bla bla bla bla bla....
I wish you well. Few forums work well for thin-skinned folk.
Okay, since nobody is heeding Scott's warning to get back to topic, and the OP has decided (s)he's out, I'm closing this one.
You guys just can't seem to stop bashing other members. What's up with that?
Since everyone is just discussing other members and not the topic, this threads done.
