If you view your statement online it has all the same info as on your paper bill.
What are ya'll talking about? I get messages almost every day!
Oh, yeah, maybe I should plug in a phone....
I have never been told about any new channels on my bill
I do searches and you are right I always end up here anyway
Half the time I learn them from here
I would have to agree about the getting bitten about announcing things too soon. Just recently I got all these calls from people who told me they were told that the first set of channels in the HD expansion this year were supposed to be out by the end of March. Well, that didn't happen. And I will say that even employees aren't always told everything but I found this out by looking a few things up. Part of the reason they aren't going up till after June is because we were supposed to launch one of the Sat's from some platform in the sea but they had an incident there and all launches were delayed. Now we are launching the first sat from like Kazackastan (spelling?) in June. I actually prefer when people aren't told until a channel is released because people get really really really pissed off if something doesn't go quite as planned. I do agree though that people should be told ASAP when a channel does go live though.
If it were up to me, right before the transponders for the new HD channels are lighted up, I would make serious use of the showcase feature and everybody's envelope icon would be bright yellow.
I agree that D shouldn't say things in advance of channel(s) being added, but D a lot of times doesn't even put the information out after the channel(s) is/are actually being carried I find out more things about D on this Forum than I do D's website
When did 604 get added?
MOR -- some type of outdoor channel.
Isn't there a way D* could block the channels until a specific date? Something along the lines of saying that "this channel isn't paid for". That way we know it's there and then D* can say it's going to be launched on X day.
We might be a little pissed because we have to wait a few days to watch the channel, but that would be better than just *poof* here's a new channel!
Then D* would be just like E* and you know what you would see then?.You would see a channel is uplinked then if a deal can't be made it would vanish which
would piss off subscribers that's what happens to E* subscribers.Think I like the
*poof*instead of *poof* now you see it *poof* now you don't!.
Of course during contract renewal with E* there is alot of*poofing* going on.
If you have autopay you get a message every month.
ahh yes i remember the good old days when i first got D* in 1994,they were adding new channels just about every week it seemed, and they always had a message on my receiver about the new channels they were adding, they should go back to doing it that way,
That's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying "upload the channel before cutting a deal," I'm saying, "upload the channel after the deal's been cut, and then tell customers that it will launch on D* X date, and keep it turned off until X date."
Well I don't use autopay, but I do get an e-mail from D about monthly news. I just read it before I came to the Forum, but it didn't mention anything about new channels or channels being moved to other packages, etc. I too wish they would go back to sending messages. I loved to see that message light come on  Maybe as D now has more customers it costs too much for them to do that now?
Ok my mistake sorry.
Totally understand.Don't know if it's the cost or the time.Have never seen a message light. If it ever came on I might think a camera was activated and throw the sheet over the receiver.:eek2:
Alert-----Alert------Dolly the Tennis Channel-----Alert-----Alert....:rolling: Made ya look didnt I..
Now that is one channel I WILL know about, if D ever adds it :jumpingja Actually I'll probably miss it also
