Yes they added all the OTA sub-channels in Green Bay.

Awhile back they did a repack on a couple locals and it messed up the AM21. So I had to reset the AM21 and at that time I only used one zip code on initial setup.

If its on the list does it mean they are providing program guide data right now?

They should, but check if any of them show the wrong data.

After initial setup I looked at the edit off-air channels screen and all the new subs were added and X'ed. But when I went to the guide they where not there. So I restarted HR24, after restart I looked at guide, still no new subs. Then light went on, I was in Favorites Custom 1, switched guide to ALL channels and the new subs were in the guide. I gained 13 new locals in the DirecTV guide.

    2.4 WBAYDT4
    2.5 WBAYDT5
    5.2 WFRVDT2
    11.2 WLUKDT2
    11.3 WLUKDT3
    14.2 WCWFDT2
    14.3 WCWFDT3
    14.4 WCWFDT4
    26.2 WGBADT2
    26.3 WGBADT3
    32.2 WACYDT2
    32.3 WACYDT3
    38.4 WPNEDT4

I did a program guide comparison using zap2it.com TV listings and the only channels showing wrong data are 32.3 WACYDT3. Looks like the incorrect data is from some kind of Arab channel. Here are a couple of the program titles: niran sayfiya, arabwood, al asheqa. The other channel is 14.4 WCWFDT4. Here are a couple of the incorrect program titles: the view, Strahan & Sara, general hospital.

Other than that, all OTA channels tune in great with correct aspect ratios and at a high signal level of 85%. I really didn't have to restart the HR24, that was my mistake.

This has been a long time coming.

The fake TMS_ID they're using for WACYDT3 belongs to LBC, an international sat channel from Lebanon that some providers carry in their Arabic packages.

The fake TMS_ID they're using for WCWFDT4 belongs to the SD feed of an ABC station. It's hard to pinpoint which one though without searching the cable lineups from all 210 markets and the US territories. Can you check what it says during the local news hours before GMA or after primetime?

Here are a couple of incorrect programs for WCWFDT4: PNC News, Amot Para I Henemlo'ta, For the People.

This is weird, when I look at WACYDT3 programs it shows LBC for a couple days, then it shows the correct programs for a couple days, then goes back to LBC programming.

Thanks found it, for WCWFDT4 they're reusing the TMS_ID for KTGM, Guam's ABC affiliate.

It's an issue affecting several markets that arises when they incorrectly reused the TMS_ID for an existing station in Gracenote's database for the fake ID, so the listings go back and forth between the OTA listings and the listings for the original station. Like in Philly one of WACPDT's subchannels frequently reverts to the listings for Telehit.

Why are they using incorrect TMS_ID's for existing stations?
What is the reason why they're using fake TMS_ID's ?

Software glitch or human error ?

Can this be reported, if so who ?

Long story short, 65535 is the decimal equivelent of 0xffff, the TMS_ID's hit that value in 2009. Last year they started applying a workaround by using the gaps below that range for OTA stations with TMS_ID's higher than 65535, but there's occasional conflicts with stations that DirecTV doesn't carry but is part of Gracenote's North American dataset.

    It's probably human error.

Nope, can't be reported as of now, the CSR script still tells people to use their TVs tuner if they call about missing/incorrect OTA stations. Maybe after the LCC is finally released nationally CSRs will have a way to report issues with OTA data.

So they didn't design it big enough to begin with. Now they're splitting hairs. Sounds similar to Y2K.

It is to bad that they didn't use the local OTA TV stations PSIP guide info, coming from the primary & sub channels and insert that into the DirecTV sat guide. If they did that, the local TV stations would probably want a kick back.

    I guess I can't complain a 11 out 13 isn't to bad.

When the database first started they were nowhere near the 65535 limit, but then other providers who use Gracenote's data needed system specific channels for things like local programming and sports blackout edits on national channels like TNT and TBS, it was still okay at first, but then TMS/Gracenote expanded to Western Europe which caused a rapid expansion in the numbers.

Expanding the value isn't trivial, you probably need a background in assembly code to fully understand the details, but changing it from a 16-bit integer to a 32-bit integer would take significantly more space and resources since the field isn't only used for OTA data, it's also used for the satellite channels too. Maybe down the road when they kill off the MPEG2 only receivers the HD recievers will be able to handle it and they can drop the need for the workaround entirely. But right now they still need those fields in the data to be compatible with even the oldest Advanced Programming Guide receivers that came out in the early 2000s during the pre-D10 days.

The problem with PSIP data is that it is not useful at all for a DVR since it doesn't contain metadata used to uniquely identify series and episodes. The average user will also not understand why only 6-12 hours of data is available, many times in a bare bones format that's all caps and missing descriptions or episode titles, why guide data vanishes every few hours unless they tune to the station, and why they can't reliably set series recording on these channels. Even made for OTA DVR's from companies like ChannelMaster use a 3rd party to supply guide data instead of relying on the PSIP data.

I just realized 26.4 WGBADT4 Court TV is missing and was not included in the DirecTV OTA database expansion.

    Also some low power analogs;
    30 W30OBU 3ABN
    49 TBN49CB TBN

    And some low power digitals;
    49.1 WGBDLD Daystar
    49.3 WGBDLD3 Datstar

Directv doesn't add low power stations to their database, those will never get added.

Low powered/Class A analogs will not be added as the AM21/LCC only have tuners for digital signals even the HR44/HR54 won't pick up an analog station via its natural scanning ability.

They have added Low Power/Class A digital stations in some markets. Skimming through the database some are affiliated with major networks while some are just showing informercials. I don't believe LP/CA stations are high on the priority list as they are updating markets due to repacks.

In the case of 26.4 WGBADT4 Court TV that was added after they did the expansion and the repack so it may not get added anytime soon unless they update your market during the next round of repacks for VHF stations.

Like in my market after it was expanded the local CW affiliate added Heroes & Icons on 30.2 and Start TV on 30.3. For my HR44 w/LCC it picked those up but the guide just says "Regular Schedule" whereas for my HR24 w/AM21 I have to use a zip code from Memphis, TN to get 30.2 and 30.3 to display. This gives me the correct guide data for 30.3 (Start TV) but the wrong data for 30.2 (Heroes & Icons).
