I see on the D* site that HD DVR's are now $149.99. Does anyone know if that is a permanent price change so we'll see that at retailers as well?

Might be a special for you. In the past I was able to get a free hd receiver on line but now shows 99. I just checked via my on-line account and they show the HD DVR as 199 for me :-(

Ok, I thought it was universal because my brother has the option, too.

Showing at $199.99. Must be a special promotion for certain customers.

Sometimes it's as low as $99. Depends on your account history.

I've noticed the price go down to as low as $99 the closer I am to my anniversary date. Last anniversary, by calling into Retention I was able to negotiate one for free.

I'm 6 months from my anniversary date and it's $149 for me, too. It was $199 as little as a month ago.

I've had a "special offer" for over a year for $99, but have never pulled the trigger. A.) I don't have more than 1 HDTV, and B.) I have no idea which box I would get. I may finally do it if I can't fix my R15

Mine is listed at $199. Not a surprise though. Last year I got a bunch of stuff free. Next year it will show cheaper. I have 4 DVR's and never paid for any.

$149 for me. The item has a box labelled "special order for valued customers". I have no idea what my anniversary date is.

The only way to get what you really want is to buy it directly from an D* supplier. That's how I got my HR24-200 a few months ago.

I ordered an additional receiver this am, was able to negotiate it to free via email. Just renewed my contract last Oct so not a renewal offer. Will be interested to see what I get via fed ex but since its going in the rec room all Im looking for is whole home dvr compatible and for it to work! Good experience all in all, negotiated over email, confirmed via phone and got a email shortly after confirming deal and shipping info.

199 bucks and wouldn't budge, called again next day and it was all of that plus 45 more bucks.

Over 12 years whit only one late payment only because my debit cared expired, called the new card in wheni found out.

:mad:That's all right getting ready to call it quits because it is getting too expensive any how.
