I don't know if this belongs in the ce forum, but I wish Directv would quit changing my favorites list to push the crap they want to market!

Almost every week I have to trim stuff like the US Open channels, the NFL channels, and such! That in addition to them putting those damn ads in the guide.

Damn it, Directv, if I want that stuff I'll add it myself.

    CEASE AND DESIST!

Nothing has ever been added to my favorites lists on both my R22 and R15.

Could your "favorites" list perhaps be set to "channels I receive"??

I sympathize, but if they didn't do this, how would we know when a new HD channel became available...

    Oh wait, never mind. :lol::lol::lol:

ACtually, I like it when they add the temporary and new channels to my favorites. That way I know that they're there and I can delete them if I want.

To each their own, I guess...

Dream on, it is not going to happen. It is the easiest method for them to get "eyes on" what they need to promote.

I've never had new channels automatically added to any of my favorites list on my HR21-700 and HR22-100.

Edit: let me rephrase that... I've had channels MOVE in my favorites list, but never any new ones added like you mentioned.

I have not had new channels pop up either. Even when they added HD versions of SD channels, the new HD didn't show in the guide. The duplicate SD would be hidden, since I hae that option set, but the new HD would not be added.

I have heard other people mention that they don't like channels being added to their guide. I wonder why it happens to some and not others.

While I agree with you, I don't think DirecTV will get rid of a revenue stream.

I've got an HR20-700 as my main DVR, and I don't think I've ever seen channels (like masters or us open) added without my doing it. As a matter of fact, when versus was removed, it just went away, they didn't add it back as 603 for the self serving slide, nor did they add 604 when they popped Universal sports in there.

Apparently I've been struck by this. I have had my second custom favorites list set to channel 2 (CBS), ESPN2-HD, Tennis Channel HD, Tennis Mix 701, and 703 to 707, and I named the list "TENNIS".

As of tonight, channel 701 is gone and I have channels 703 to 708, all with -1 qualifiers and all for NFL. I could understand having 703 to 707, as there were there before, but 708 is new.

This has been reported before. It does happen. Not, it seems, when they add a new HD channel, but I've had PPVs, Adult, Shopping and a few others appear on my favorites lists. The Adult channel that popped into the favorites list we keep for our kids was one of my favorites.

That's just wrong and should never happen. :nono2:

I've seen shopping channels show up but not PPV. I've also seen the sporting event mix channels pop into my favorites list. The sports mix for a given event I can sort of understand. The other stuff shouldn't be there. Especially if they aren't going to automatically add new national HD channels to my favorites list. :(

I should note that the content was blocked because of the ratings limit we have, but the channel name and show titles appeared in the guide.
I'm not positive that this is totally intentional because if it was they would do it with more channels...it may have something to do with channel slots that are being re-used.

But...like "Channels I Get" it should be fixed.

I have never notice a change.

I have one favorite list which is the same on all STBs and the second favorite list is restricted to channels I record on that DVR.

These are not channels; they are ads to watch a particular channel.
